in the us. we just sat down to put together our numbers for tax purposes and believe it or not, between our gc agency/gc fee/donor agency/donor fee/donor-gc ivf cycle and one FET with our GC, the grand total is ~$100,000. (sadly that doesn't include the several ivf's we tried on me...another $40K or so since insurance didn't cover it.)
we weren't smart about finding reasonably priced agencies, so we paid about $20k just between our gc and egg donor agency fees (2 separate agencies) and our gc and donor fees were kind of expensive too. i think if we had done it a bit more cheaply, we could have got that $100000 down to $80,000.
In all, I think $70,000 is the usual quote for gc and egg donor, since gc is often quoted at about $50-60K. Of course, the amount we've paid thus far doesn't even include all the costs of getting teh pre-birth order, etc, and it assumes our gc's insurance will not diapute the pregnancy in the future.
I think surrogacy/ed in india is more like $15-20k total, but i'm not 100% sure. all i know is that it is tremendously more affordable.
If we decide to try again with frozens, we are definitely going to consider trying in India. This has really been a financial drain on us...worth it, of course, but still very taxing.
good luck to you.
