I just wanted to share my history with other women dealing with similar infertility issues
me 42
DH 41
live in Germany
Endometriosis, ANA and ACA borderline
Since 09/2001 ttc, no natural pregnancy achieved. Several IVI failed
10/2003 - laparascopy: endometriosis
2003-2004 - 3 ivf attempts (poor responder) resulting in only 1 chem.
2004-2005 - 3 ED cycles in South Africa via Cape Fertility Center and Renew
*1ED / proven donor, I became pregnant, pregnancy until 12 weeks without any problems, nuchal was not OK and amnio revealed down-syndrom (donor was only 24 years old!), we decided for termination
*2ED / the same donor as 1ED, 1/2 years later, donor has not taken her medication appropriately (she prefered to travel), RE in SA told us there is still a very good chance to develope good eggs for the donor when continuing appropriately with the medication while our german Re recommended us to cancel immediately the cycle, we decided to stay and continue and ended with lots of ruined eggs.
*3ED / another proven donor, made it in our case only to two eggs resulting in two embryos, bfn, even during medication I became very ill ending in the clinic, my body was swallen has not supported any hormonal medication more. The Illness continued even after ending the medication, I deleloped more and more symptoms, i. e. severe food intolerance, which I have until today, therefore please be careful with all the medication (I took estrogen, progesteron, prednison, ass, heparin, vitamins)
2007 - beginning with the surrogacy program with CSP (very good surrogacy agency in california)
*4ED / proven donor via american donor agency, donor achieved poor results in our cycle because of his drug and medication abuse (we were informed about this right after the cycle), moreover she hide the fact that she suffered from a cranial / cerebral malformation! bfn for our proven surrogate (bad luck or luck for us?)
*5ED / experienced donor via Fertility Alternatives (good agency!), donor made it to only 1 good (not excellent)embryo and 3 middle class embryos. Our surrogate became pregnant with a singelton and is now almost 11 weeks pregnant
That is awesome news, and is certainly encouraging for the rest of us . What's your EDD? Are you close enough logistically to go to the appts with your GS?
Huge congrats to you - please keep us posted!!!!!!
Thank you very much - today we are 11 weeks already. It's not possible for us to go to the appointments with our surro since we are living in Europe and she's in California. We are in contact via phone and email. We will come and visit her for the important u/s at 20 weeks and stay with her for two weeks and finally we will come app. 3 weeks before the calculated due date.
Well, after all this horror of 7 years (during this years I slowly got the impression to change from a winner to some kind of victim to the destiny),we are very happy and even more delighted (me), the pressure on me was immense.
It works well with the help of surro / ED, given the fact you have the right surro (and donor, however if you see in my case, even proven donors are a big question with each new attempt). But even this scenario is not only easy going, definitelly not(plus very! expensive).
I can see how the distance would be a bit of a problem! I'm so glad that your journey has finally taken a turn in the right direction. EDD is Estimated Due Date. I was just wondering when your baby is due?
