First Meeting: Today, Sat.21,2011 1pm at my house:
5634 Vesper Ave.
Sherman Oaks, CA 91411
Tel: (818) 787-8100
I became a mom last year at the age of 45 after 3 mcs with my naturally conceived pgs and many rounds of failed IUI and 2 cancelled IVFs with my own eggs. Two DE cycles fell thru due to problems with the donors' health and egg production before the third donor enabled me to carry my beloved daughter. However, 2 weeks before my due date (1 week before the scheduled c section) I came down with HELLP syndrome (an extreme form of eclampsia) that gave me a stroke and put me in a 3 week long coma from which the doctors were not certain I'd emerge. After a year of rehab (physical and cognitive) I am doing great but am trying to create a support group since this is such a rare illness it is easy to feel isolated. (Other "young" stroke survivors in a support group I attended seem to be in their 60s and no others had pregnancy related stroke.)
I had two people interested in attending today's meeting but once cancelled at the last minute. Am going ahead with the small gathering (myself and one other) since from small things great things can grow. If anyone else wishes to drop in, feel free, just call and let me know.
Thanks!
Lisa

note: hubby will take our daughter to the park during the meeting. I do, however, have two cats and ask people to wear slippers or socks (I will provide) in our house in order to try and protect 60 year old hardwood floors and keep the floor relatively clean for my toddler. |
