Lighting for Gingerbread House

There are two good reasons for adding lights to a gingerbread house. The first - the house looks great with lights shining through the windows. Secondly, the light slightly warms the gingerbread, creating a very pleasant aroma of gingerbread and spices.

Purchase a string of mini-lights from most any store -the shortest strings work best. Use duct tape to tape the lights onto your base, making sure to place the lights within the walls. Heavily duct tape area where the light cord will exit the house to keep the cord from moving and cracking exterior walls.

Usingn a string of lights also works well if you want to put lights in fence posts. Tape the lights in place, then build your fence/light post around each light.
