Hello Kellen,
We are the Napier Racing Team out of Corona, Ca. Dino Napier, Late Model #5 and Johnny Malcolm, Late Model #15, and the Streek Stock #75 of Tommy Malcolm.
Dino travels with the Western Allstars, Johnny & Tommy started at Perris Auto Speedway, the last couple of seasons, and we were just devistated when we heard about your crash. Our family has been staying in touch with the status of your recovery. We have been praying and giving our love and support when the helmets come up to the grandstands, etc. and sending hugs back with the guys and hope they make it back to you. We are SOOOOOOOO happy that you are home with your family and we are thinking about you and your loved ones!!
I am a race widow and a mother of 5 (well 6 if you count Dino), and just want to pass on a little "faith" from my family to yours. I will try to make this short:
We almost lost Johnny when he was 12 due to a horrible motor cycle accident. Broken back, torn lungs, helicopter ride, lets just say LOTS of broken stuff, the kid was a mess, like yourself, but Jesus was there with him...and with us, we could feel the presence of the lord. He too used the walker, couldn't be elevated due to his back, etc.
When I met Dino 12 years ago, I took my boys along to the races over Southern & Northern Calif, since they were little (2,4&6). Dino even saved his old super street stock in the garage for nearly 8 years just waiting for JJ to grow up. He wanted to see if the boys developed an interest. At age 17, Dino started JJ at Perris, and THANK YOU JESUS I GOT MY BABY OFF THAT DIRTBIKE becasue we discovered that there was nothing we could do to keep that kid from going fast or racing. one night at practice we let one of the crew guys test drive the super street and sure enough it ended up in the crash wall, and with a race comming that next saturday night, Dino threw JJ into his Late Model to "test drive", and it was like watching a dance on the track. He raced that next saturday and has been in the #15 since. JJ is now 19 years old and HOOKED!!!
Now Dino has Tommy (age 15) driving the #75 street stock kicking some serious butt at Perris, and Mikey (age 13)getting ready to practice at Victorville. it is awsome and scarry for me all at the same time cause I revert back to the accident. I think of you and your family every Saturday night at the track. I can actually visualize you all at home, right now, excatly how it is, been there.
My point is that although JJ was SERIOUSLY knocked down for a while, it is the "TRUE DESIRE OF HIS HEART" to race. Not me, or anyone can stop him. (I'm just glad he has a fire suit and a roll cage and not even that can protect him from harm)
I am telling you that YOU ARE A MIRACLE. YOU ARE HERE, ALIVE AND A TESTAMONY TO ALL WHO SURROUND YOU, what an incredible strong person and a fighter!!! You WILL walk, and run again. More importantly, you will touch lives as you grow in your recovery. KEEP STRONG IN YOUR "FAITH" cause NOTHING can stop you from THE TRUE DESIRES of your heart.
Take care.
