For me, it seems like the Clairol Loving Care lasts longer than 1-2 weeks...conservatively, I'd say 3 weeks. I go 4-6 weeks, though. As far as the safety issue with the product, it scores a 5 on the Cosmetic Safety Database with "Fragrance" being the most "dangerous" in the product. See CLC here:

You'd be surprised what most popular makeups and moisturizers score...a lot of Neutrogena's (and, so-called all-natural or organic products') score in the high hazard category. For example;
