I posted last December discussing my PPD reaction too which had only just been discovered after a patch test. For years I had been having my hair highlighted at the local salon and last December decided to se a different salon. They patch tested me and I honestly didn't expect a reaction from such a small blot of chemical solution including PPD. However, the reaction was so bad I needed steroid cream and after all this time I am still scarred behind my ears. I am so self conscious of having my hair up now due to it.
However, I feel so lucky as I didn't put the solution over the head before the test and things could have been so much worse.
I constantly worried about my highlights growing out and being left with mousey blonde/brown hair. So I met a wonderful hairdressers and she has started highlighting my hair using foil. She doesn't highlight a lot, just quarter of my head usually parting and fringe/bangs. I am only 24 so don't have the problem with grey hair yet.
Anyway, the reason I post this subject is I just wanted to hear from others who also have used foil as I have been thinking about getting a full head of foils done but am a little fearful. I am incredibly cautious.
