Response to an almost solution for some

however, the last time I did it, I had an issue(s).

I got the foils (FULL weave) on a Saturday afternoon. Come Sunday morning, I'm watching TV with my family. I keep hearing high-pitched sounds in reaction to some of the sounds on the TV. I know, sounds whacky. Long story short - I was having an allergic reaction - liquid was in my ear(s). Freaked me out! That's when I said, "that's it!" My body does NOT like PPD. You have to keep in mind, that even though the dye doesn't directly touch your scalp, they still have to rinse it off. I figure that's how it upset my ears. ;(

However, you may not be as sensitive as I am. Regardless, at this point, I don't care how little or lot someone is sensitive to it, I personally think people like us, should and need to stay away from PPD. It feels like I'm playing with fire. Sorry, don't mean to sound harsh, but this is a pretty serious allergy, I think anyways...

Anyway, I am very tempted to wanting to do some highlights w/foils, but I am too scared. A few years before my reaction, I used to only get the partial weaves, without a problem - well maybe some itching. (But, sadly, I'm getting grays and went for the all over dye & full weaves.)

I was just wondering about those caps they use to pull the hair through. Maybe that would be safer?? I don't know. I've never actually used one.

Other than that, I am still on the hunt for the perfect solution.

Thanks for posting and good luck with whatever you decide for the future. Please come back and post again. happy.gif
