I do not use foils with the application, nor do I have to put cream all over the head any more. I do however, stay away from the scalp with the exception of the front hairline and part. I do line the scalp there, and I use Aveda hair conditioner. I work in an Aveda salon, so that's what I have. You can use what you use as well. (plus it's free from lanolin, PABA, paraffin, etc.)I do however, coat the hairline, ears, and neck on ALL clients. It protects from staining.
