Sure!
I have 4 clients that have severe PPD allergies. The kind of severity that can make you die from shock, which usually means your airways are cut off, and you suffocate, then your heart stops, that kind of thing. They all have lots of Aveda products, all different kinds, from hair to makeup. Because of the way the the makeup is packaged, it has very little of the container that you keep. So when one of them reacts to a makeup product, the ingredient list is long gone. The three products that have been the culprits have been discontinued, so there was not realy a way to see if they had PPD in them. I had asked the client to bring the product in, as the names of the shadows had wore off. I would have to try to hold them until the rep came in, or mail them to home office to have them matched, and then find out what was in them. So, it is easier to just watch what is in something to start with. The clients just passed on the makeup to friends. I would have preferred to do a refund so I could have found out what it was, but I can't beat them into submission. (well, I could, but it isn't cost effective...)So, now I check the ingredients of each product before I order it into the salon. I also encourage people to check each Aveda makeup product before purchasing if it is a dark color, as older products had PPD, so newer ones can as well.
