Response to Hi Michelle

I know exactly how you feel about going into a salon again. After my PPD reaction, just getting my hair cut the next time at the salon I itched for 2 weeks afterwards. Yes, they disinfect their tools, but depending on how sensitive you have become, everything in the salon is going to have traces of PPD from the sinks where they wash other people's hair dye out to the gowns they cover you in when they cut your hair.

You can find a salon that doesn't offer hair color as one of their services that way PPD won't even be in the salon. It is hard to find a fancy salon that doesn't offer color, but depending on where you live there might be some eco-salons. Another option is the chain, Great Clips. They do not offer any color services at all and they use a spray bottle with water to wet your hair before they cut it instead of washing it in the sink, so you don't even have to worry about residue from other people's products. Again, not fancy, but better than itching. I have a neighbor who has a lot of allergies and she just asked a local stylist to come to her house to cut her hair.
