As a teacher with limited artistic skills I have always told children that you can draw many things using a cloud base (cumulus) clouds, trees, canopies in rainforests. Clouds in this way stop diagram art from being a chore and allow even the poorest of artists to be understood. Not forgetting the clouds used as thought bubbles or outlines in schematic diagrams.

You're quite right, Alison - once you start looking at clouds properly, you can see their shapes in many other things - and, of course, you can see the shapes of many things in clouds! Happy cloud-drawing!

Alison, that is a brilliant idea from you, perhaps you may ask your pupils first to see the sky and as sonn they find a familiar image then to try to draw it.
You are not only activating the other side of brain but also the drawing talent. Congratulations.
