work in progress...

December 2 2009, 3:19 AM

A special story book "family tree" carving for a daycare... What a nice job, they told me what they would like put in the tree, and left the rest up to me...The challenge was that The origional design was just going to be a nice bear, standing up, holding a lamp. THen they saw some owls I had carved, and wanted one added. Then they asked for two of each, one big, one little. THe tough part was making the two bears fit into a small tree.... Photo 1 shows the difficult part for me....THis was the first four hours of brain racking work....THis was more a mental struggle, than any thing else...

Got it all in the next day, the right arm of the big bear was the hardest issue to solve, and make look right...

Now it was a family tree, and you can't have a family tree with out a family of raccoons....

Where is this? I'd like to see it and take pics. But I wouldn't do it when there are kiddies there.
