I'm a very old friend of your parents. Mal and I met when he was still a student at Liverpool School Of Art and we took off together on the road, spending many years arranging and travelling jazz/poetry gigs. It was I who set up the readings each year at the Edinburgh Festival, where I also first met Libby. I was fortunate to see Mal a few days before he died and I cherish his friendship and memory. Sadly our lives diverged and I never got to know his children. I hope you and Sam are well and happy and remember me to your mum.
