Response to Do Brits celebrate May Day? |

Judy,
But over here we have a May bank holiday - a bank holiday is when everything closes. Where I used to live, in North Ealing, we used to have a May Day parade, where the maypole was ceremoniously led through the streets by the 'May Queen' dressed in virginal white, led by Jack O'the Green. All very priapic. I don't know how much of that sort of stuff still goes on here, though.
I expect in some rural areas there is still morris dancing and lots of consumption of beer.
Now tell me about the US ...
Happy May Day.
