... but the whole thing has been a bit of a headache. When I have a bit of time I'll tell you the whole sorry saga of NTL. Or perhaps I might do a web page to warn other people about the problems they might experience.
But a couple of nights ago I arranged for a BT scheme through one of our free ISPs, Freeserve, and tonight is the first time I am trying it out. Basically it means I pay £5 a month and get free access in the evenings and at weekends. So far the connection has been more reliable than the Compuserve one has been lately, and everything seems to be working very well.
It's really nice to be able to wander about and not worry about the seconds ticking past!
