Buyers and sellers of engines and frames should understand the legal status of the parts before the sale. Avoid problems and have the status understood up front. State conditions of the sale beforehand, and stick to the agreement. Parts known to be stolen or have bad numbers SHOULD NOT be bought or sold on The Horse Swap Board in the first place. Buyers beware but sellers be responsible. Long flaming posts clogging up the board are no fun. Avoid them by having all conditions understood and settled up front.

Just throwing it out there to see if anyone's looking for a shovel in Thunder Bay. I live in PA, email me for pics and more info. It's a matching #s shovel, runs mint. 21" front tire, black in colour. 12" apes. Kick and elec. Email if interested. I am looking to sell because I have another HD I ride more. Will trade outright for a ratrod, so I can take the family out. Thanks for reading. Drew. 807-621-6610 is my cell.
I also have a thunderheader pipe wrapped in black for dyna models. Will fit evo or Twinkie.

Building, registering, and insuring a custom motorcycle in Ontario
Like the title says.how is this done in Ontario? I have a 2000 Buell and want to put it in a Paughco hardtail frame is this even feasible in Ontario? I cannot find anything on the MTO web site. Can someone point me in a good direction?

Re: Building, registering, and insuring a custom motorcycle in Ontario
good luck - been there done that. Getting the title is easy, showed my mso for the frame, my receipts for the engine and paid 10 bucks for a homebuilt title. I paid taxes on that only because I had already paid the taxes on the bike parts. The problem is that with a homebuilt title, your insurance goes through one company and it is through the roof. My insurance company was sold to the ONE, and subsequently my insurance is $2000 a year paid upfront. No way I', paying that so my bike is going up for sale. If it doesn't sell than I will buy a harley title and switch it all over and sell it. Do yourself a favour and keep the title in the buell's name. Not sure where the numbers on the buell are but I would try to somehow incorporate them into your new frame and lose your paucgho numbers. Either that or have someone cut up your buell frame. Those are the only two options I see.

I don't know about insuring and licencing a custom build, I will find out soon enough... but I currently insure a 44 yr old Triumph through Dalton Timmis out of Burlington Ontario. Look-em up, they have a web page. Full coverage and I pay under $400.oo All they ask is for an appraisal done every few years and I have just picked a guy out of the phone book. no hassle. They even have a list of appraisers they deal with. I have had good hassle free service through them for years now, even after a run in with an old lady in a minivan which damaged my bike. When I joined them they had a "vintage elite" program. now I think they call it the "home for chrome"
I looked it up...
Here's the quote: "Dalton Timmis specializes in custom-built motorcycle insurance"

Save about 400 per bike but have milage restrictions. Apparaisal ate up 340 dollars . The appraisals are good for a few years so that helps.
alberta has the best deal that I have seen but we moved back so I pay.

I have a 48 U engine complete and a 44UL basket engine
by Alan (no login)
The unfortunate thing is it costs a lot to rebuild this stuff.
The 44 is cases, Aluminum heads, barrels and a few other pcs. But I do have an ontario ownership for it. So that helps if and when you get it on the road.
I'lll send some pictures your way.
But this stuff is not free.

I've got a 1969 Sportster that I'm in the process of restoring. I was
hoping to have it on the road this Spring, but I'm not sure now. So
what I'd like to do is get something that I can use for awhile, until
the Sportsters ready. I'm laid off for the Winter, so I'm strapped for
cash. I thought I 'd try a trade, just to see if there's any interest. I've
got one, possibly two 12 gauge doubles that I don't use much, that
I'd trade for a decent Jap bike, 650 or larger and preferably a twin.
I'd like something like an older Virago or an XS. If there's anybody
interested, I could e-mail some pics. I live in Owen Sound, Ont.
My number is (519)371-3679. Thanks. Ron

Nice setup. 10 spoke chrome mags large axle.
Metzler M E. 880 tires 140/70B18 . I was told you could change the bearings to run them on an older bike, I'm not sure about that. The wheels came of a 2001 road glide. 750. shipped

Looking to replace my 4 speed kick only with a complete 5 speed tranny setup(complete-tranny, starter, clutch etc..) that will work with my 1.5" open belt primary. Would also purchase just the 5 speed clutch basket if thats all you have. Looking for something hopefully local because I think shipping will be a killer. Might trade the 4 speed as partial if interested.

Hey Brian- my email address is Metalmeltdown@cogeco.ca
what I'm looking for is a 5 spd tranny complete with inner/outer primaries which I can cut up to work with my belt primary. I want to get a complete system with starter, compensator sprocket, clutch etc etc. I already have a 5 speed tranny plate and want to use my 1.5" open belt. So the clutch hub will need to work with a 1.5" belt primary and chain secondary. I basically want something that I have all the components from one person. I just put over $300 into my tranny, new 5 stud clutch basket, new friction plates, kickstart gears, kicker shaft, custom kicker(also have a chrome 4 speed ajuster plate with the jacking plate. let me know what you have, maybe some pics and we'll see if we can work something out.

I've got a 1969 XLCH. It has no spark, so I'm assuming that it needs a new coil. I put on new Accel copper
plug wires and a new condenser. The points are good. Does anyone out there have a good coil to sell? I really want to get this thing going before my riding season is done. Thanks guys. Ron

I make solid silver or gold Shovelhead engine rings. I have 2 alternator shovel rings currently ready to go for $500 CAD each and have just finished carving and molding a generator version. I have for sale the silver generator ring from my master carving for $600 CAD. The regular generator rings out of the mold in silver will be $500 CAD. These rings weigh approximately 50 grams in sterling silver and 55-60 grams in gold. They have very thick shanks and solid filled backs. These are good solid handmade rings, not cheap taiwanese crap! I also have silver Shovel Cult skull rings for $300 CAD, they weigh 34 grams. The shovel pin pictured weighs 35 grams and has double brass screw backs, it's priced at $275 CAD. I'm located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I accept paypal and will ship product promptly by the carrier of your choice. Prices do not include shipping.
