Case options to date

Hi gang,

Ken approached me about being the one to build the forum watches and I would certainly like to participate in this project, so via email Ken and I have been working out some details. He asked me to post some case options for you guys to look at. It's not particularly easy to source cases in small quantities, so the selection available is limited until you get up to the 500+ sort of order. So here are some options I have seen to date. I would have to check availability of these and pricing, but at least this will give you an idea of the styles I have found so far.

These first cases are all for ETA/Unitas 6497 and 6498 movements, which I think would be the preferred option of many here.

Option 1 - 42mm case, 5 ATM, Sapphire crystal, and what I use for my current watch line.

Option 2 - similar to option 1, but with a knurled bezel, brushed finish, and PVD coating.

Option 3 - likely out of the question due to cost, but 42mm available in white, yellow, or rose gold.

Option 4 - 42mm and in polished, brushed or PVD finish.

Option 5 - a whopping 48mm in PVD finish!

Now for automatic movements....

Option 6 - for ETA 2824, 41mm

The remaining cases are for ETA/Valjoux 7750 movements.

Option 7 - 45mm polished case

Option 8 - 41mm polished case

Option 9 - 41mm brushed case

I am always on the prowl for more case options, but after doing a fair bit of research this is what I have been able to find so far.

I hope this helps!

Cheers, Al

I'm in favour of option #5 - don't sure if this watch will be to large for my wrist?

I also like the simplicity of option #1.

Ken / Al - How much do you think this watch is going to cost us? ballpark?

Cheers,

Getting more information

April 8 2008, 9:30 AM

Since the 48mm PVD seems to be the most popular, I will contact the supplier to get more information about the case. I hope to be able to provide water resistance information, lug width, and know the dial diameter (that's more my concern than the end users) shortly.

I do know that the front crystal is sapphire, and the back is mineral glass.

Cheers, Al
