Response to The state of opium |

I still can't see why this is happening, the results don't match the .mod file. Perhaps the use of a different version of the mod at time of creation.
It seems to be acting 'as if' it were a tiny map. That means the research rate is triple (still subject to 4 turn min) and the optimal number of cities before corruption is much less.
If it were only the cities and corruption, that would ALMOST be a very cool and useful side effect. I'm trying to push a very small number of cities, almost core cities = amount it takes to have FP suggested, and new cities all luxury colonies. Having a smaller number of cities allowed before corruption helps this goal, and makes it pretty painful for both player and AI to expand - they will see widespread corruption. (Again, not bad in itself)
The accelerated tech rate, however, is in no way intended. While it would make for an interesting mod of its own, that doesn't well fit with the opium.
So yes, it may need a restart if the techs are crazy.
If so there will be the questions:
- try to reuse the map? (probably not or can't)
- decrease the optimal number of cities? (perhaps not 6, but more like a standard number on a large map)
- heck it's weed world anyway, play on (guessing this to be a :nono: )
I've not seen the latest posts before CF went down, so we'll see if anything important was posted there before deciding.
