Response to No, it isn't just semantics


I believe genocide is the annhilation of a race, obviously coupled with some kind of intent, but not necessarily with the absolute, iron-clad attempt to wipe out every single member. The Nazis are probably the most horrible attempt. (except maybe cambodia) But conquest, mixed in with large doses of slaughter, combined with the disease vectors, combined with the forced relocations, all protracted over a period of hundreds of years with little change... I dunno. Maybe you're right, it's just "really bloody conquest". But, since the killing remains the same, it's just a question of what we call it.
