Sorry, that was a very cheap shot at S & R, but there are a lot of folks who find Sigfried and Roy to be the world's greatest example of animal exploitation in the name of greed, although I admit that Ashock is one of the last folks I'd expect to see on the PETA crowd's side of all of this. Neat to be surprised. Me, I figure that if they can make it work, and they are willing to accept the occasional visit to Dr. Claude Balls in the process, hey, it's a living, and it seems to be a good one for those gents. I suspect they could buy me out about 1000 time over, maybe 10,000, depending on if they hit the tech boom with their investments or not.
While there may not have been any documented evidence of "killer pussy cat abuse" in the case of S & R, there is the issue of getting the mental/psychic/spiritual drop on any deadly carnivore such that he or she does what you want it to on demand. That is not necessarily done with catnip and silk collars, I don't care what their brochures claim.
The entire carnival, circus, amazing animal acts schtick has a nasty and rather dark history of the domination of spirit, one that might send someone with Sirian's sensibilities spinning should they choose to put the animals in a human context, as any number of bleeding hearts are wont to do. (Sirian, if you are reading along, this is not a shot at you, it is a nod to your concern for the problem the "domination" mind set can bring with it.)
Hawk, never knew you were a Las Vegan (but not one of them other "vegans" I hope, barbq is just toooooooo good) though I am glad to know that you survived Sin City with your sanity in tact enough to meet the Variant Scum standard.
