Response to One thing I find interesting about the article is...
.. is that FDR is some sort of god to liberals.
FDR is the archetype for big-government-programs-government.
But this "liberal Democrat" is NOT for BGPG. If there is any "god" for my political beliefs, it would probably be the other Roosevelt, Theodore. I don't know what party he was when president, but I know he was "third party" by the end. IIRC.
It is social conservatives and Republicans who equate liberal Democrats and big government. IMO the social liberals want to solve the social problems (poverty, hunger, homelessness), and will endorse whatever solutions they feel will be the best solutions, regardless of how it affects the size of the govt, the tax rate, etc. Their opposition, however, characterizes them as wanting big government just for big government's sake. No.
