      And uses Lower Resists, then yes, no Conviction.

      If he does not, the Conviction is a good team aura.

      Limiting it to one point per act, or per diff, is a thought. +skills will still boost it, but the key issue is:

      If Conviction is up, then neither Holy Freeze, Holy Fire, nor Holy Shock will be up, and that seems counterintuitive to the premise. On that grounds, it seems that Conviction is precluded.
