Our state requires AED's in schools with a certain response time requirement as well. Therefore, our school has 5 AED's. One in the HC, one in Elementary School which services the dining room and is located near the gym and swimming pool, one in High School which also services and Administration Building, one in Middle School and one in the coach's office which he takes to all games.
I have been an instructor in the American Red Cross CPR, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid and AED for MANY years. Therefore, I certify all staff here at school. I have all the coaches and lifeguards certified as well as any staff who is interested.
It has been going quite well and fortunately, we have not had to use it.
