We had our Region 9 meeting this past Sunday at the End of the Lake Park in Morgan City, LA. New officers were elected, and 2008 and 2009 events were discussed. We plan to have a World Championship event tentitively the third weekend of October, 2009 on Lake Palourde in Morgan City. A strong encouragement was voiced by everyone to try and have a joint event with Vintage hydros present. Without question, my boat, the "Tijuana Taxi" will be present, and I will do my best to encourage my fellow Vintage participants to come to the deep south. We will have great food, entertainment, the usual gratuity plaques/or other, and I am trying to get you some tow money. Right now we are working for $100/boat, but I am trying to get more. I know that I am new to the Vintage family, and I live a long distance from a lot of you in the mid West and Northeast. In my first year, I did travel to Chataugau Lake in Mayville, NY, Celina, Wheeling, Buffalo, and was scheduled for Hillsboro until Gustauv hit Baton Rouge with 90+ mph winds. I still plan to travel to several of the Vintage events in 2009, and would love to see as many of you as possible come to Louisiana and give us a chance to show you a good time, and our appreciation for your efforts to come. While we are still in the preliminary stages of our event, I did want to plant a seed in your minds about Morgan City in 2009 as a possible Vintage event. More to come in the future.
