Had a meeting with the New Orleans boat club last night and after discussions with the Morgan City club, it has been decided that the Vintage participants WILL NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ANY FEES!!!!!!! The $25 fee posted in the sanction will be taken care of. Please don't forget about the Cajun supper for Vintage participants on Friday night after registration at the race site. We will be under the New Orleans club's Old Timer's Tent. You will be able to meet with members of the New Orleans club who are really, really anxious to meet you and show you a good time. As I understand it, there is a very special suprise coming for this event that will be especially significant for the Vintage Family. That is all I can say about this surprise for now. As of now, the Vintage participants that I have coming to Morgan City are:

Billy Noonan- Lil Miss Hillwinds
Doug Woodward- Country Stoves
John Starkey- L'eau Reves
Tim Settle- Barracuda
Phil Mitchell- Flying Tiger
Greg Isaac- Two boats (?)
Bill Gmeiner- Lauterbach Special
Gary Vore- Heavy Duty

If someone else is coming, or you have decided not to come, please let me know ASAP. Also, you may be paid in cash for your tow money at the event, no checks, no waiting! I also understand that there will be four cranes, but that the Vintage boats will be parked near the spectators so they can see our BEAUTIFUL BOATS! Tractors will bring our boats to and from the cranes. Looking forward to seeing each of you and having a great time!

My boat is a Florida Boat! I was on the fence about it but Jay is good enough to travel up North a Summer it was the least we could do. It will be a tough job for us with the Race Boat and Vintage but we will do what it takes. I am hoping since one is coming from Maryland and one from Tampa Fla. that we get tow money for both.....

Tow money

October 8 2009, 8:25 AM

I haven't checked the sanction for tow money, but I know for a fact that Vintage participants will get $100 per boat, pay NO FEES, and will have supper on Friday and Saturday nights. Weather in October down here is usually hot and dry, but I advise checking the weather sites on the web just to make sure.

Tow Money

October 8 2009, 12:34 PM

Greg , Your going to get a few hundred bucks for the one your racing and another $100.00 for the vintage. Morgan City Club pays the racers tow $, and New Orleans Club Pays Vintage Tow $ . Have a safe trip. Billy W.

we have installed a new axle, new tires and wheels, all

new lights and wiring, new fuel line, new water conectors,

new temp guage, new shaft seal and bushings. but something

has happened to jepordize our trip to cajun land!!!! i'm

having a helluva time finding little green bottles!!!!

Sorry to say, but the Mitchells have too much on their plate at this time, so they had to bow out.

No Flying Tiger in Morgan City

October 12 2009, 11:04 PM

It's true.

With my daughter's wedding just a couple of weeks from now and a couple of other complications, Andy and I will not be attending the Morgan City event.

The Flying Tiger is tucked away for the winter. The little mouse motor is out, apart and getting inspected. I cleaned top-end parts tonight for an inspection session on Saturday.

My best to Jay and all of the racers (Vintage and current) in Morgan City!

(pssssss....watch out for the snakes...)

Sorry E.C., Jay, and the rest. Just couldn't swing it. I was looking forward to this since Jay mentioned something about it this spring, but best laid plans never seem to turn out. Really wanted to see the GP's run again. Oh well. Maybe next year.

I understand totally. Money is tough to come by now days for sure. I have my issues with the Boy in College and such but I am lucky enough to swing it this year. I was looking forward to PLAYING with you and the Old Fart along with getting some photos of the two boats together.....

You'll just have to bring the half-throttle boat to Celina or Wheeling next year. Either that, or find some benefactor to fly me and OF down to Florida for one of those events....

Good luck on that YP!

I have to thank Jay and the Race Committee for ordering some great weather for us. The forecast is for mid 70's and Sun with winds under 10mph. The 2.5mod will be making loads of power.....

"Good luck on that YP?" That means good luck on finding someone to pay your way to Florida. What is confusing?
