Rich Hallett started building 3 point hydroplanes in 1938 HOLIDAY. Ventnor attorneys wanted him to stop building, because of their recently issued pattens. Rich told tlhem not to bother him. He had been building 3 point hydros for years. Rich would build, finish, install a boat in 10 days. He would then take it to a race, and drive it to a win. He would sell the boat. He then went home to build another.
Fred Wickens started building in the '20s. He decided to stop building hydroplanes and continued building PODH and crackerboxes.
