I'm finishing restoration of a 145 which had, as originally fitted to it, a Keller speedo (no known relation to myself!) Lots of stuff was missing when I got it, including the pitot tube. Through the gracious help of the folks at Portage Bay Systems, I was able to source the pitot tube & all related hardware. On what side of my hydro should the speedo pitot tube be installed? Im thinking that since its a RH turning prop, the boat has a tendency to lift the right side sponson and drop the left one, so in that sense, itd be best to place pitot on the left side. On the other hand, the boat will turn primarily left, so maybe pitot should be placed on back of the outer (right) sponson. Any convention here?
Thanks in advance for your comments.
Rgds.,
Bob
