Eligibility is based on where you played last season. If you were in GTHL in 2009-2010 and are back in the Alliance for 2010-2011 your rights are with the GTHL.

below is from Waterloo thread, what players are invited from other teams?
players invited from Waterloo to U 16 alliance are:
forward -BP - chance to make it
Center - EB - chance to make it
Center - KP - nope
Def - NH - shouldn't make it but might do to #'s on D
Def - CE - WTF??? biggest invite joke at MM 5'5" , or 5'4"
Goal - DH - somebodies reputation is better then he actually is. Goalie who has not gotten better, but politics on this invite cause the team made the finals.

9:47 I'm not sure what rink you where at?? No one separated themselves this weekend from the group. Brady on Saturday was the best player, today, a lot of kids who played poor on the Saturday showed up today. As far your list, I really have big questions marks, on the following Young, Denobriga, Horvat was a disappointment, Fitzmorris, Seraphrim, and Williams, fringe players at best. Goal tending was awful, Wheaton separated himself from the rest, and second spot is any ones guess?? One team was clearly better than the other, which had some nice play makers, other than that, it was a great weekend for all!! |
|

| Re: ALLIANCE U16 Team Selection Camp | June 13 2010, 10:21 PM |

10:06, not the mom, check the IP its from Toronto.
I just am curious why so many feel the need to bully kids, be it the one mentioned before, and others.
Why are adults on here feeling the need to put down kids?
As I said, no ones opinion on here really matters, no scout or GM will ever read this, so its meaningless, but does speak to an issue with our society.

10:14 your a joke. Brady was by far not even close to the best player on Saturday and you said Denobriga and Horvat were a disappointment? I think there were 2 of the best players there this weekend. Goal tending you think was horrible i think Wheation did great same with Sun County Goalie. |

Anonymous
| ALLIANCE U16 Team Selection Camp | June 14 2010, 8:30 PM |
Pawley not being picked was quite simple. He is an individual player. He does not use any of the players around him. Never has and never will change. On a team like this, this attitude will not work. No one is saying he is not gifted or skilled enough but on a team like this he is not a wanted player. |

WOW, are you kidding me, I can maybe see the Sun County kid, even thou he didn't look sharp, but for the Wheaton kid not to be on this team, is a total sham!! But, when one of the coaches is from Brantford, then you can see the political machine rear its ugly head!! |
Anonymous
| Re: ALLIANCE U16 Team Selection Camp | June 22 2010, 9:59 AM |
This will be a bigger test then the winter, the Alliance is a watered down league with a handful of good teams, lets see how the best players from the Alliance compete against the best players from the other centers. Even at the U16 the best players from the Alliance did not stand out like they did on their respective teams. There was a lot more parity. I am sure the kids on this team will be happy to have some great team mates on a line with them. They don't always get that in their home center. |

Selfish kid will stay selfish, when the heat turns up, at U17, they are pressured by mom to get it 'done' and that is score - not play hockey but score, this will hurt one kid and few others for sure! |

| Re: ALLIANCE U16 Team Selection Camp | June 22 2010, 1:19 PM |
No it won't be the indication you think it will! Alot of kids that were not chosen were circled by scouts. Next year is the year. Scouts make their own choices , not the choices that a U16 team from one league may make. |

No it isn't news worthy. Everyone who made the team already knows. There are maybe 50 other people who care so not worth newspaper space. It is a poor reflection on the Alliance website people however. |

there is lots of preparation that goes into something like this to sit back on here and criticize what others actually do for these players is down right disrespectful. I was there yesterday and it was done with class and all the leaders of all the associations were there including hockey canada the ontario staff with the alliance and it will be on the website today. |

Scouts will take a peek at this but reality is next season is when the play counts. |

For that matter, I would like to know who was even invited to tryout. Some people are just fans of the game and are interested for good reasons you know. Not all N54 posters are crazy! |

What a crock!
They obviously didnt pick the best talent there!
Good luck TC nice that you screwed your own center, WHEATON not there what a farce! Good luck you obviously listened to your Brantford coach.Maybe if you went to a few games this year you wouldve seen that the best goalie in the league was Wheaton. Cant wait for you to rub the pie off your face when Wheaton goes higher in the draft then those two kids! Wheaton was the starter for the Villanova HS team with Lucier as his backup and Wheaton brought them to a championship. BAD CHOICE TC BAD CHOICE best part is I am not even associated with the kid Ive seen both play and its a no brainer! |

The Wheatons are good players and this team is only a drop in the bucket. YOUR not helping them!!!Mcfarland is from hamilton and two top kids from there were not picked so don't cry foul. |

| Re: ALLIANCE U16 Team Selection Camp | June 23 2010, 3:43 PM |
First off congrtats to the boys that made it, was this the fairest process, who knows. This I do know, the 2 teams on the Saturday and Sunday were not evenly divided. You have 12 kids selected from the blue team and only 6 from red team. Also, the blue team had more of the highly skilled kids, thus smaller and quicker, at the same time, this is the direction of the coaching staff felt they needed to go with. Size in the end will prevail in the draft, but on this team, coaching staff feels speed and skill will do the damage in the tournament in Kitchener!! As far as goalies, not one stood on his head, and it is here where the coaches should have relied on the past season, on who the two outstanding goalies where. |

| Re: ALLIANCE U16 Team Selection Camp | June 23 2010, 3:49 PM |
No kidding, crying foul about this goalie is only going to hurt him in the long run. Scouts don't read this stuff on here (at least I hope they don't) but they hear what goes on and what is said at the arena's. Constant complaining and crying will hurt.
Let it go.
Maybe 2 or 3 kids from here will go to the ontario team. |

Seems kinda obvious but the selections were based on the players' skills, attitude, and drive and not the success or lack of success of the teams they came from.
(By the way, Huron-Perth has been to the Consolation finals in 4 of the last 6 years.) |

| Re: ALLIANCE U16 Team Selection Camp | June 23 2010, 6:18 PM |
Lets be realistic about this. And first of all my son did not make this team. Is the recruitment and selection process perfect here? Probably not, but it will be refined and improved for future years. No process is perfect, including the OHL Draft. However, this process appears much more thorough then that utilized in other associations. My perception is that the Alliance did a decent job with this and we should all be proud of the kids that made this team.
It is not the end of the world if you didn't make it. In my son's case, just motivation to work harder during the upcoming season. No sense whining and complaining about the selections. I know that he and I will both be in attendance in August to cheer this team on regardless of who was selected.
Good luck to all of these kids. |

Cimetta's too small! The kid from waterloo on D is listed at 5'5" with skates i bet! and he was awful the first day, so awful that when he played okay the next day he must have caught the attention of the coaches. I really question that pick! You should be ready to play for the whole try out not get to take a day off and , he is way too small. |

Get off your rockers people and wake up! There were many tough decisions. Every team thats picked is always a tough go. world juniors, team canada, under 17, under 18 it is not an easy task when you have lots to choose from. From our perspective, they had a fair process and the team was announced lets cheer them on. Can you imagine how difficult Team Ontario will be and how many really good players will be left off that roster and again you will have your nay sayers criticizing that process as well and the experience that staff has.
Go Alliance! Do us all proud! |

talk about cim. and being small, how about the one post, and checked it out too, DB posted one height then at the final camp real measurement dropped him 2 inches, lol. Why do people think they are gonna fool good hockey groups? Hope the kids are studying for their exams instead of thinking they made the World Juniors
