Our children have played house, travel and AAA. We had two children who went AAA, one loved it and stayed with it; one didn't like the time commitment and went back to travel. Two went travel and then chose to go back to house in order to focus on other activities. One child hated LTS and never played hockey.

Are most AAA players better than most AA players? Of course. Are most travel players better than most house players? Of course. But are all AAA players better than all travel players? Nope. Are all travel players better than house? Not at all -- in fact Bronze is a house-skill level with travel dedication.

Each level has advantages and disadvantages. The choice should be made by each family for each individual child. There isn't a "right" choice nor even a "best" choice for all.
