Mike Breslin, a longtime fixture on the Chicago hockey scene, has joined the Chicago Blues director team effective with our spring 2012 program. His duties with our club will include leading the Junior Blues program.

A native of west suburban Addison, Mike most recently served as Mite Program Director/Pee Wee Head Coach for the Chicago Bruins. He also helped to establish the Chicago Minor Hawk program, which is based on the USA Hockey American Development Model (ADM).

Other coaching and directing stints include the Joliet Jaguar Hockey Club from 2007-10, varsity head coach at Geneva High School in 2006-07 and varsity assistant coach at Fenwick High School in 2002-04.

As a player, Mike grew up playing for the Elmhurst Huskies. He was also an alternate captain on Team Illinois’ Midget National AAA Champion team in 1982. He played in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) for the Wexford Raiders and in the USHL for the Dubuque Fighting Saints. Mike's playing career ended after a tryout with the Chicago Blackhawks in 1987, when he began his career in coaching. He is a level 4 USA Hockey Certified Coach.
