      My kid is long gone from this level. Think about your statement, MITES lose games by a big margin. AND there is no development. THEY ARE MITES. Learning the game, and learning proper skating skills is all you should expect. DEVELOPMENT, from what, chair hockey to mites. Worry about that crap as peewee and bantams. Just hope your kid is having fun at mites, thats it.
