The point to all of this is that the Mite AA team won back-to-back state championships 2 years ago Under the development of Melton and his staff. To see the Mite AA team now lose by close to double digits is embarrassing. This is how far the club has fallen in just one year of Melton being out. And it will only get worse from here as the coaching at the mite level in general is appalling. Smith even got rid of Rafe Aybar from coaching any Mite travel teams. Coach Rafe is an excellent skating coach which mites desperately need.
