Early bird

Way too early to figure out who will try for CSDHL next fall.

Probably can count on

Chargers, Sabres.....best two Midget programs in the state

Bruins, Falcons, Express, Huskies, Vikings

Maybe the Blues will have a Minor and Major team again next year....probably if they can keep the core of 93's together.

Most importantly the new decision on giving Midgets a third choice will change the battle field dramatically.

Look for the Chargers and Sabres to get even stronger as the better players will want to go where the better coaching is and where the stronger team will be.

Sabres won MM last year and were runner up this year to the Chargers

Chargers won state at mm last year and MM this year while their mm were runner up.

Those two organizations definitely rule the Midget level

The Hitmen advertised U18 and U16 midget teams playing in the NAPHL league out of rolling meadows in HockeyStop. They will form officially as a Junior team with age appropriate players.

They told AHAI this, and AHAI is fighting them. If it goes, so goes the top end of the Chargers Midget program. Bad for Chargers midget program - good for these kids though.

What we need

I think we need a few more leagues, there is a huge gap between house and NIHL that should be filled at all levels. Also, between NIHL and CS, the gap is not as big, but there is still a need. The most important thing is between CS and AAA, something there to help the kids get to the next level. Of course we should also have some sort of a Junior Juniors program to assist the kids in making it to the real Juniors teams.

After your sophmore year of high School you can't decide you want to go to Yale or Harvard. That choice was made when you studied your backside off and actually had the top grades since Kindeschool. Then if you are lucky and have had a family member who graduated from there and you have the "MONEY" you may be considered. It's still a longshot thats fulfilled by a few.
When you consider the # of kids in Illinois playing hockey at both the 94 and 95 level. Add elite players from out of town. Have less then 70 spots available. Consider the skill level ,commitment level, survival rate and of course the "MONEY". AAA at the mm level compared to Bantam aa. It is a leap and bound that would rattle superman. We don't need more leagues or levels. Shake it up all you want it always the same everywhere at anything. Somebody ends up on top and somebody ends up on the bottom. From the begining, we can't go down the slide at the park with kids. We are there if they fall. They still have fun and wan't to go back. Bantam aa is a great level and experience. Let the powers that be deal the cards and play the hand your dealt. My eldest is past Bantam and my youngest is at the lowest starting date. Smiles on the way in and smiles on the way out. For Both.

That is a great idea, lets incorporate a league with games in with the learn to skate programs............I can see it now, we could tape sticks to the chairs.
