Anyone see the bruins 97 opener? Heard they lost to the Leafs 97 CS team 6-5. That doesnt say much for them. The Leafs don't have much this year.

NIHL VS CSDHL

As many of you know, but few give a crap, this has been discussed on this board, and in many tournament conversations.

The facts are that:

- Central States takes away talent from Northern Illinois, lessening overall compeition up here
- Central States benefits people in Saint Louis, Indianapolis, Madison, but not Chicago area
- Central States is what personifies the greed of a few to take from the larger
- Central States, led by AHAI and theri search for more money for their coffers, actually takes money away from AHAI by reducing the leveling of the paying field and therefore taking poeple away from hockey.

There are plenty of NIHL teams that have beat Central States teams. Bu that is not the point. Why must it even exist? To pacify the blaoted egos of few, while it lessens the competitive landscape of Teir II hockey in Illinois.

AHAI leaders are far from true leaders, hiding behind their closed door meetings. Why have they not acted on any of the recommendations submitted that suggest eleiminating Central States?

NIHL vs. CSDHL

yup...what Hockey Mom said... Most clubs really cannot produce high quality players for CSDHL and NIHL suffers. My child played CSDHL and we were not impressed. All we did was pay more money for the league and more money for ice costs at our club. It's ridiculous.

NIHL was strong then and hockey costs were down. When they started
Central States teams us parents knew it was all about money.

There is an excellent article in this months Hockey STop about AHAI and ADM, comparing them/it to the Obama administration and the recent elections. People are tired of the few taking from the many, and telling us how to live our lives.

I would like to know how much money the NHL gave to USA HOckey to push the ADM, how the money is used by USA Hockey and AHAI.

Excellent article. WHo are these people that take our money and tell us what to do instead of spending their time figuring out how to make a balanced and competitive landscape for players to enjoy. I think there are thieves among us similar to Blago, George Ryan, Daley, and theorest of the Know-it-alls.

....commenting above, no doubt.

By the way, this thread was about bruins 97. this is a team that has chosen to play independent schedule. no central states (i guess they were not invited), no NIHL (too good for NIHL?), nor Northwest or North Shore League.

That is a decision that is selfish, (by the coach there no doubt, a club hopper), and silly.
Where does one find out what the record is on this team, as it is not in the standings but I heard they lost two recent games 13-0 and 12-1 to a Milwuakee based team. Poor kids must be totally turned off of hockey.

bruins 97 season

No score for this post
July 14 2011, 12:21 PM

the bruins arent a good team... expectations were very high going into last season and did not live up to them...i got a chance to watch a few of there games at addison and i was not impressed at all.....besides silver sticks tournament and one game against the milwauke admirals games were hard to watch...the only i enjoyed watching was one of their defensemen #5 duzanski..this kid was out there every other shift and ws leader of this team..the bruins did not have any depth in there lineup...they had one solid forward line, #87 ambrosat, #81 helf, #97...there defense was awful..duzanski was the defense on that team...#89 palmero was solid but hurt most of the season..so duzanski was hung to dry on defense...#87 ambrosat was another positive thing about this team..the best forward..leading scorer....im not sure where they got this goalie but he couldnt stop a beach ball...he had a few good games but alot of very easy goals...they wouldnt have won silver sticks without helf, ambrosat, duzanski, and palmero....i think duzanski was the captain, when palmero got hurt he really carried that team....the lost there state game against the cyclones in like 3ot, great game but they came up short..so there season was a real disappointmeant and next season is prolly going to be worse then this year...the bruins lost coach alfie turcotte and there captain duzanski and from what i heard they arent getting anyone to replace duzanski..other than that the team is pretty much the same..so they are going to really have to coount on ambrosat who could have a real good chance of moving on in hockey along with duzanski..ambrosat and palmero have to carry this team or they are in for another bad season..goodluck bruins and to ambrosat, duzanski, and palermo who are the only kids on that team that have a chance of moving on in hockey

Thanks Mr. Duzansky for your opinion. If you knew anything about this sport you would know this team was doomed from the beginning. You cannot go end to end at Bantam hockey. They had no discipline or hockey sense. The only good player on that team is #87 and he's got no one to play with.

They lost 2 forwards and 2 D to AAA. Others 2 forwards are playing high school. TF picked up one headcase from the mission. Rumor has it he may be moving up another "problem" from last years 2nd team. Same story different dance. The blues will be challenged more this year. D is going to be average at best. SJ on D can't carry the team by himself.

Good coach. Not enough talent to compete against the St. Louis teams and the Blues.
Probably will do fine against the likes of the Hawks, Leafs, Clones

Blues picked up enough other players for the players they lost, they will again be best in Illinois, TF is the best....All the other teams are chirping but heard the Huskies have upgraded greatly 4-5 new players from other CS Teams...will be the best of the rest. Sabres have a good new coach but talent cannot compete, Bruins lost players and didnt re stock...Cyclones have a great goalie, good team but too small to compete, Leafs have picked up some players as well but enough to compete?,Falcons are always well stocked, cant believe Chargers withdrew!! Hawks are decimated.....should be an interesting year for 97's.

Still a very wide range of physiques at the 97 level. Some kids at 5' 100 lbs while others near 6' 160 lbs. Kids will look and play different at the end of the season 5 months from now after growth spurts. All teams will challenge for the top spot.

Has anyone noticed that CSDHL is now really just NIHL? Nine IL teams and two STL teams. Why don't we just call it NIHL and play STL two or three times a year and save everyone the time and money?

It's time to end the myth that CS makes any difference for IL teams. We are playing the same eight or nine teams we would play all year whatever the league is called.

Like what has been said in years past, all Central States is, is the top teams from those certain organizations playing some out of state teams. Even if there was just NIHL, those teams would still be winning.
