So in the NHL, the Blackhawks really weren't the best team last year, cause they didn't have the best overall season record. Nobody really remembers who had the best record. All that matters is, who won in the playoffs. When the Cubs had the best record in th NL a couple seasons ago and were swept in the playoffs, did anyone say they were the best team. I think not.

I've been standing at the glass for 19 years, 2 kids.
The youth portion of my hockey life will be over soon as number 2 ages out.
It's been great.
It's been happy, it's been sad, it's been a lot of family time driving here and there, dining out, hotels and etc.
It's gone by real fast.
Over the years we've seen the team with no chance win the league while the top team lost to the bottom team in the first elimination game.
Every game played during the season is a prep for the playoffs and no game during the season matters so long as you win enough to make the playoffs. It's been proven time and time again.
So while most everybody expected Rockford and the Sabres to meet this Sunday once again it turns out to be the boys who showed up to play last weekend and that's what makes it so exciting.
I'm pulling for my son's team of course but all we can do is encourage them to show up, wish them luck, and congratulate them, win or lose, when the game is over.

Yea...you can say that about the Blackhawks yet the falcons beat the blues and Rockford for the first time this season, in the NHL thats why they play 7 game series. In a 7 game series the falcons wouldn't be there. The Express maybe. Express by 3.

With 11 teams in CS MM playing 3 games vs each of 10 makes a season of 30 games.
While USA Hockey says the ratio of practices to games should be 2:1 (and Europe is 5:1)
without entering tournaments we all seem to feel we are not playing enough games.
The math says we are but what does math know?
If we played each club 4 times instead of 3 and split the games home and away (Rockford and Affton are shuttering at the thought) things could really be different and even could have everyone feeling the season is more 'fair' as home rink advantage is split.

Actually the falcons beat both the blues and Rockford in the regular season. And you can say anything you want but they showed up and played and won a fair game. I have no clue why people say they shouldn't have made it when they won their game fair and that's it. This chat is for predictions of the game not whining because your team didn't make it in. Maybe next time your team should show up to play when their seasons on the line.

Congrats to the Express, and to both teams for a good state run over the past 2 weekends. You came ready and played well. I am sure the Express will represent Illinois well and from the Rockford President I wish you the best of luck.
