I think that the Vikings 2011-2012 record speaks for itself. 14 wins, 71 losses, 19 ties across all Central States teams. I'm sure with all the development progams they have they will be much more competitive next year.

The best coach will have more losses at the beginning of a season, and less at the end. NOT because he gets them playing better as a team, all though that is part of it. The main reason is, he runs all his lines every game, every kid on the team plays in every situation. There is no reason to ever shorten a bench until after the first of the year.

Bruins have CSDHL teams at all levels for 2012-2013 Season.

Haven't seen any other clubs posting what levels they might have. Heard the Huskies aren't going to have teams at Pee Wee or Squirt levels.

I just moved here from OH and am looking for a club that will have a CSDHL team at the PW major level. I didnt see a list of organizations that will be having it on their website. We will be living in Batavia and I dont have a problem driving him within 40 miles of here. I'm looking for any team within that range other than the Leafs or Bruins. Any suggestions with who the coaches are as well. Thx

Now that's pretty funny that you "just" moved here and

a) You tracked down this rather obscure Board!!

b) You know your son would make a CSDHL team!!

c) You have already formed opinions about clubs you've never been to!! ( because you "just" moved here)

Advice: Talk to your "other self", because you may already have the answer to your question!! Next time try and be upfront and just ask who might agree with your opinion......or maybe showing jealousy is too obvious.

I agree with what you wrote to an extent here bud, but what if this guy is legit? Maybe someone from Leafs or Bruins told him not to bother already. I also didnt see any list on CSDHL yet either. Nichols, my advice to you if you haven't played here already is to go wherever is closest for one year and play there regardless if they have CSDHL or not. If he hasn't played here already he is going to have two choices anyway. Find out where the kids in his school play and ask them. If you think he is a lock to play CSDHL, then get him out over the summer and let coaches help you decide. I also find it hard to believe you found out about this board already, but there is some good advice on here every once in a while. And I do mean once in a while.

I did just move here and I didn't "form" opinions. If you need to know, I won't go to the Leafs because of the drive. I know its within 40 miles but the drive there from my house and my work is terrible. I work right off 88 and would like something convenient to there. The reason for the Bruins is I think their rink is a dump, plain and simple. While I don't know for sure if my kid will make CSDHL, I think his chances are pretty good. He played against a few of the teams last winter and he did just fine against the teams he played. And, if the Cyclones do have a CSDHL team, I would go there because of its location. Everybody that I have called has said they are going to have a CSDHL team, but I haven't seen confirmation from CSDHL yet. And, if you must know how I found out about the board, when I googled CSDHL, this was one of the other links that came up. I thought maybe I would find an answer here.

What about the Blues?? They are in Bensenville and very much worth the trip.. Great coaching and I believe won 9 flags last season... Great facilities with 3 rinks and YES they WILL have CSDHL teams at every level except mites. They put up highly competitive teams...worth a look.

The Vikings get hurt at the upper levels all the time due to all the high schools that are there. It is hard for them cause a lot of kids really want to play high school in that area. Its not for any other reason that they will be bad at the higher levels

Try the Sabres also= bigger club with lots of options. Chad Green is the PWM coach. All Seasons is close and Rocket is further away (88 to 355S). Web site has the drop in skate times with the coach ($20/session- pay when you want to attend). See website for details

The old barns that have been well maintained are best; SIA, Winnetka, Franklin Park. I love SIA and I'm a north sider. Unlike some management companies that come in, charge $400/hr and then don't bother to clean or maintain the facility, they take pride in their conditions.

Forget about the ice conditions...you can barely fit a Mite team into those visiting locker rooms, let alone a CS squad of 15+ skaters. I have no idea how the HS teams fit in there. Then how about the wet carpeting in the locker rooms (God only knows what is growing underneath there) and the rat traps on the equipment shelves. I don't even know, do they have a pro shop there?

Oh yah, great place to play. I can't wait to see the faces on Chesterfield, Affton, Indy, Nashville after they visit that National Historic Landmark.

This had to be created by coaches who are trying to get into the NHL right? Just listen to all these NHL wanna be coaches screaming from the bench, Half can’t skate themselves. Hey, here's an idea for you loud mouth coaches, stop trying to live through the talent of a young boy because you never made it. Teach them how to play hockey and have fun knuckle heads..... Jude CSDHL = Expensive ADM

No score for this post
August 25 2012, 2:27 PM

First year in the league, after having 15+ sub 500 teams last year and their House program had similar results, most of the teams below .250 win percentage. I know, it's not about the wins, ut why pay more $$ to lose at a higher level. Sure doesn't help the kids confidence any, but they'll get real good at skating around cones, over sticks and kicking tennis balls.

Really? You bring up a month old thread to chirp St Jude? Really? Can't just stick to the facts and say the locker rooms suck? Then we could just all nod in agreement that the SIA lockers do suck and remind ourselves that St Jude has no say about the locker rooms in a rink they don't own. Maybe we should go to Arctic with the Vikings or IIC, my bad-Canlan, with the Huskies because they have better locker rooms. Oh wait, those programs, despite their great lockers and facilities, have been losing kids like crazy to St Jude and the Hawks.

Wonder why that is?

You tell us. That fourth place bowling trophy you won in early '82 has been infusing you with some serious hockey knowledge. You must be the skating master. Sho-nuff! Maybe the kids have been coming to St Jude because of the player development from the on ice sessions you knock? You might be a moron but that bowling trophy sure is shiny up on the mantle isnt it?

Maybe you're the math master? Really? Nope, sorry, still a moron. St Jude fielded 11 travel teams total last year which makes it hard to have 15+ below .500. The Mite, Squirt, and Pee Wee levels all fielded gold and/or elite teams. Mites finished third, squirts were .500, and the peewee gold team won the presidents cup. St Jude doesn't field a midget program encouraging their players to play for their high school. Four of the 11 travel teams finished below .500 but those four were better at the end of the season than when they started and that counts for just about everything. The team records are far from perfect and St Jude is certainly not the biggest or strongest club in NIHL but all that cone skating and tennis balls is not only fun for the 7-12 year olds but really makes St Jude a lot harder to play against in February than they were in October. That development is what keeps St Jude kids from jumping to other clubs. Its what people from other teams see and why St Jude has been one of the clubs to benefit from the issues at the neighboring programs .

And you chirp the cost? There's not a NIHL club that can chirp St Jude on cost. PeeWee central states at St Jude is $3,350. That's paying more than who? Really?

Moron post and probably more moron posts coming.
