The Admirals are so insignificant, I almost feel sorry for them. The one thing that is interesting is that they are now charging more than the Bruins who are just down the street. Not sure that is a good idea.

The fees comparison depends on how you look at it.

Admirals PW NIHL = 3,295 + 300 raffle tickets (required) = 3,595.00

Bruins PW NIHL = 3,500 which includes 200 raffle tickets = 3,500.00

If you sell your raffle tickets (which is next to impossible) Admirals are $5 cheaper.

Bruins also require a 200 deposit for required 15 hrs of volunteer work which is easy to achieve durring the year.

In either case the value for your money is well worth the extra $5.

The Bruins are a far better option and as the prices are comparable, I have no idea why anyone would choose Admirals over Bruins.

I haven't heard anything about Schoner leaving, but I heard Mickey was stepping down.

Also for the the same money (or even if it was a little cheaper), why would you want your child to play here. There aren't enough kids to fill teams and they end up with AA level kids, A level kids, and NWHL kids all on the same team. As you can imagine, this can cause many issues with the kids developing quality hockey skills. For example the AA level kids end up trying to go end to end and never pass, the others don't develop as they don't get a chance to get involved.

Overall, I think this speaks about how watered down hockey has become with too many small clubs.

Completely agree. Maybe that's why the ADM is taking over at the Mite level. Why not merge a few of these smaller clubs? Bruins and Admirals are so close to each other. Not sure what happened but it seemed to have been a mass exodus a few years back. The Admirals landed MAtt Noga as the Director of Hockey Development but he can't coach all 10 or so NIHL teams

46+- kids left last year alone. Most are playing CS with one going AAA. The Admirals will claim that they developed these kids but the reality is they flourished after they left and received proper training. There were good intensions but nobody there understands how to operate. You cant even drop-in at their events or conditioning clinic. No strangers allowed!

You can't just make CS unless you were developed with your old club so what you are saying doesn't make sense, and in turn are giving credit to the Admirals, however, those numbers seem right. There were a lot that left. Your claim that you can't drop in at their events isn't correct either. Not sure about conditioning clinic but unless it's run by Noga and divided by age and ability, why would anyone want to go anyway? There are better camps, organized sessions out there, no doubt.

Honestly, none of these clubs around seem to know how to operate now do they? If so, who? You have Hockey Directors jumping around and/or flip-flopping with each others clubs and its ridiculous. TI is even a mess. People in bigger clubs are disgruntled and people in smaller clubs are disgruntled. No one seems to be the clear winner around these parts.

Exactly my point in the other thread ripping this club. They also hired a highly regarded Director of Player Development. Seems they have their stuff together now.........well, looking at the Board and seeing mostly women is very, very concerning and a reason I'm sure people will look to Cyclones, Bruins, Blues, Hawks. Stupid move on their part. Need more men to equal that mistake out or it could ruin them for good.

Not so sure what they did to a few haters on here but this looks to be a foundation for a darn solid club. Who cares if they are small. Small might play into a more positive personal experience.

The only coachs there that can truely develop a player is Noga for skaters and Stu for young goalies. The rest are mens league buddies. If you havent been a part of the club you truely cant understand all the underlying problems. It sounds like bitching but 100 people +- cant all be wrong! You may get 2 1/2 ice practices a week but the coaching is awfull, its a fun-house! GONE

You're the bender my friend. Maybe your little Johnny is ending up in a mens league but not all kids. If given the right direction and proper coaching higher levels are attainable. My son has been at the Chargers and is a MM and is going places as is the Bolts this year, Speak for yourself. The Admirals are a disgrace of a house league hockey program, suckering all the money from those Glen Ellyn saps who think their kids are going to the NHL. Won't happen at that orginization. Next time you are in a rink look around for the true sign, BANNERS!

So go waste your monet sending your little bender to AAA, we beat AAA teams last year in tournys and in practice games and will do the same this year, so go cry in your beer LOSER!!

You are wrong Mr. Hockey. One of our boys played Juniors in FLA last year and this year my son and some of his MM teammates have been approached regarding playing Juniors in WI for the Ducks, so put that in your pipe and smoke it. Plus there are a number of boys from last years MM team that will be playing D3 so blows your negative theory right out of the water, ne beer league for them. Sorry your little bender ruined all your dreams and is now attending C.O.D., working at Home Depot and playing mens league. Fortunately thats not the path my son is taking. Chargers develope players for the next step after MM. Keep your binders on, a true sign of jelousy of the BOLTS.
Bannners brings attention from many Junior teams as personally witnessed. Keep taking cheap shots at our orginization, most players aspire to play for the BOLTS but sorry, no vacancy this year!!

August 22 2012, 8:18 AM

Hey Bolts Asshole,

You are one of the worst examples of both a parent period and a hockey parent second. Your values are completely fucked up. These are kids were are talking about, and despite the fact that you are living vicariously through your kids, there are likely not going to make a living playing hockey. In the US, the process and funnel of making it to the AHL/NHL is the harshest of any sport, depends on so many variables that are outside the control of any parent. So go ahead and speak your ridiculous delusional diatribes and venom about your shitty little youth hockey organization. Your priorities and touch with reality are seriously off. Let's see now, with all your bloviating you forgot that the opportunity for a youth to get a solid education and come out of college with a degree and a job in investment banking, consulting, engineering etc. is pretty close to 100%, going to the AHL/NHL not so much. Why are you fucking up your kids future with your own warped perceptions. By the time you pay for youth hockey, AAA, Juniors and college (good luck getting a scholarship) you have more then paid for a college education. You are a true moron. If your kid has talent, and grows to sufficient size he will enjoy get noticed no matter where you play, let him enjoy the sport and get an education, or better yet turn him into a bitter washed up mid 20's ex-junior player who is an expert at saying, "you want fires with that"

It does not surprise any of us in the least that again you miss the point. Instead of taking the message to heart, you resort to your pendantic attacks on a typo and then attack a child you know nothing about. No one including myself attacked your kids. You have no idea about my "bender" and thankfully has never played your club and hopefully never will. My kid is an above average player, plays gold, shoots 70 at golf, gets good grades, is the leading scorer in his lacrosse team and there is MORE to life than hockey. The way things go, my kid could end up in the NHL, on the Tour or decide to fly jets, who knows, they are too young to be determining their future through the distorted lens of someone like you. As many have said, I am done with you, You are sad, very glad I NEVER have to be around you. A wise man once said, if 90% of the people like you and 10% don't do not worry about it, if 90% do not like you and 10% do, then you need to look in the mirror. Seems like, you are in the latter category.

He did receive a hockey "scholarship" offer but guess what, his ACCADEMIC scholarship was more than double the sports scholarship. Hockey’s a game, that’s all!!!! Historically, bolts hype their teams prematurely then cry foul when they fall short. The program is no different than other clubs, coaches do not bring originality, innovation to development. Teams tend to be recruited. From mite to MM dad plays important role, before season begins, to set the path to "make the team". Then dad yells from the stands or presses his nose to the glass and shouts. The rest of us chuckle amongst ourselves, most of the time entertained. Sometimes, however, we have a sense of embarrassment for such behavior, other times intolerance.

Personally, don"t know how this originates in the human psyche. But suspect it is born from failure, a life of mediocracy, mixed with the unrealized potential of youth infused with a shred of hope.

Hey Charger guy, both Mite Admiral teams mopped up all 3 of the Chargers Mite teams. Maybe a change in direction here?

Lets face it the 2 of you are hardcore losers if you're arguing over mites. . I'm a happy man knowing we don't belong to these clubs. Wow! Bitch and moan about a childs game. Everyone is laughing at you b/c both clubs suck and have a reputation of having shithead parents. We beat both of you w/ skill and sportsmanship. Keep yelling from the stands, your kids are laughing at you too. Haha! Bolts/Admirals what a joke! Set good examples for your kids so they grow up to be a shithead too. Whatever you do don't teach them hockey, teach them to bitch and moan. From mite straight to the NHL, haha. You think they'll get drafted this year? Haha. Keep writing I'll be reading and laughing. Bad parenting cracks me up.

Sorry, had to chime in here - the Admirals Mites mopped up all 3 Chargers Mite teams? Chargers Mite 1 BEAT the Admirals Mite 1 in the Silver A Wolves Cup Championship Game!

You need Elite level talent in order to have a CS team. That they don't have strong enough players to even qualify a CS team at any level there.
