The Buffalo Stars Juniors located in Buffalo, New York will operate a Full Season U16 team for the 2012-2013 season that will participate in the highly recognized National Junior Prospects Hockey League. The team will be open to Tier 1 caliber players in the 1996 and 1997 birth year.

The National Junior Prospects Hockey League is a showcase hockey league which was created and designed by coaches in order to develop and promote hockey players who are committed to enhancing their skills in preparation for the next level of hockey. The NJPHL will showcase these players on their member teams at five showcase events across the United States in front of all levels of Prep School, Junior A, and NCAA Collegiate hockey programs. In addition to the league schedule, the Stars U16 will participate in 3-4 additional Midget Showcase events on the East Coast and an additional 20-24 home and home games with league and non league teams. The Stars anticipate a schedule of 54-60 games. The whole point of this program is development, exposure and advancement.

This is an excellent opportunity for players who aspire to compete at the Junior level and beyond, but aren't quite ready yet. Players will have access to our dedicated weight room and various players will have the opportunity to practice with the Junior "B" club during the course of the season. Additionally, being in the organization, players may have the opportunity to be called up to the Junior club midseason due to performance or injury. Although not set in stone we have applied for the na3 Jr. A league for the 2013-2014 season (obviously status of that is pending). Advancement in this organization could benefit the 15/16 year old that wants to advance to the highest possible junior and college levels. Not only that but Buffalo, NY is a hockey hotbed with 2 JR.A programs within 30 minute driving distance from us. (NAHL- Jamestown Jets and OJHL- Buffalo Jr. Sabres) plus various NCAA division III and division I hockey programs.

Our initial intention was to fill this team with Buffalo area AAA caliber players. After two tryouts several AAA caliber players showed up and were immediately signed. Since we want this organization to be an attraction to both players and scouts we were in no hurry to fill up our team so we left spots open and are opening it up to "out of towners". We have now joined our third tryouts with our Jr. B team on April 28th and 29th at Holiday Twin Rinks in Cheektowaga, New York. Our 16Uaaa full season team also has ice on April 30th, which would be an optional skate if you make it out of our main camp that weekend.

*We have signed 7 forwards 3 defensemen and 2 goalies at our first 2 tryouts. Our goaltending positions are filled. Depending on the skill level that shows up to tryouts we will sign 2-5 additional forwards and 2-4 defensemen. We are looking for the right players that we can develop, provide them exposure and advance them to the highest possible level.
Billet families are available. We would set that up after successfully making our team. This is a huge commitment for any 16 year old to make being away from home. This is a HUGE commitment.
