Let me start off by saying this. PLEASE WAKE UP!
I myself have am a former coach with lot of good and bad experiences. I currently have a son who is a MM and plays AAA. I am glad to be done with this most of this crap I am now reading. My son will most likely end up playing DIII and I couldn't be prouder of him. I was fortunate to have him play AAA from his Squirt Major year to today. I was able to afford it financially and it made my son happy....NOT for me to pound my chest he was AAA. If my son was happy I was happy.
I was told by a friend who openly admits he has a middle of the road 01 how crazy these 01 parents are. He sent me a link to this blog to check it out for myself. I had to put my two cents in here.
Do ANY of you parents really think your kids are going to make it to the show? Wake up and smell the coffee....I don't care how good Jr. is at Squirt major/CSDHL.....other kids WILL catch and some will pass Jr. down the road. Just hope your kid doesn't get burnt out and quit because of ...YOU!! Yeah I'm talking to all of you who have a kid that is SO car coached I see Jr. looking in the stands at dad for his approval. Those parents should not be allowed in the rinks !!!!
Let's break it down for you Squirt Major/CSDHL parents while you can still redeem some idiotic behaviors.
First off......Don't you all realize that with FOUR AAA teams and CSDHL in IL hockey here is VERY diluted! Don't feel proud your kid made a team that NEEDED players.
Does it really matter if the 01 Falcon CSDHL team could beat any of the 01 AAA teams? Would anyone sleep better or worse?
There are cases to be made on BOTH sides comparing the money spent vs. the level of competition? Being the tallest midget doesn't mean squat.
At the end of the day you all are talking about 9 and 10 year olds. Let these kids build relationships and have fun. Too many of you people are creating the division and its YOU parents....NOT the kids. Why you parents feel the need to make your kid into the next SUPPOSED Duncan Keith / Patrick Kane is beyond me? If they have the God given ability and continue to excel it won't be because they are/aren't on a AAA or CSDHL team today.
Playing on a mediocre AAA team with great coaches and good competition day in and day may be right for some and playing on a solid CSDHL team with very little competition may be right for some?
I will close with this.......ENJOY all the time and car rides to and from games/practices you can with your son because those days are gone for me and I wish more than anything I could rewind and do it all again.
Hindsight is 20/20 boys and don't let your foolish ways leave regret and miss what you all are so lucky to still have today!
