How could you possibly know? Exhaustive imperical research, or are you a mind reader? When you say most you do know the magnitude of the total coaching population, right? Of course all the dad coaches spend that time away from relaxing, or hobbies, or things around the house because they just must help as many kids as possible become better hockey players. Yes, and when their little johnny moves on to high school they stay coaching those little kids because again they just must make those kids better. Don't worry, not bitter... just based in reality. Drink much Evian water? (that's naive spelled backwards if you didn't get it) Most coaches are in it because they are paid, they want johnny to get enough ice time, or are young and like not doing much for a job. The chasing moms around is in pockets and you hear about it, but the overall damage is not known. There may be the one or two coaches out there somewhere that have no kids in a program, don't get paid, and love to coach kids. Check the sex offender registry, but if that passes, you might have found one with "the best interest of the kids at heart". Again, not bitter, just realistic. |
