Yeah, the boys went 0-4 in the Nike/Bauer tourney. Not shocking to anyone re: last week's #81-ranked AAA '98 team... Games not as bad as feared, though (thank you 15-min NB periods & running clocks...):
G1. #7 WI Fire 10 - Fury 0 (Fire won the whole tournament)
G2. #39 NJ Comcast 8 - Fury 2
G3. #15 Dallas Stars 6 - Fury 1
G4. #48 FL Everblades 8 - Fury 5
Unfortunately our plans for a "first win" parade remain on hold. 7 of 9 MWEHL teams being in U.S. Top 21 isn't helping things, but a few of our kids can actually hang. A gross miscarriage of justice if we don't move up to at least #80 in the national rankings! Bash away....

Nobody is bashing the kids, just the ignorance of the parents, coaches, and organization. Your right it is terrible for the kids, and anyone who feels that it is a great experience for learning ,development, and enjoyment needs their head examined!

Q. Why do you think Illinois hockey costs soooo much more than anyone else?
A. Its because Illinois teams are afraid to use Dad's as coaches.
Look at the younger years (Squirt Major through Bantam Minor) of MWEHL teams in Detroit. The coaches kids play for them. as a matter of fact, if you look at a majority of teams in Detroit...around 95% of them, the coaching staffs are full of Dad's. In most cases, the entire coaching staff are dad's....men who enjoy the game and teaching the game....and their teams win, boys get developed, and most of all they have fun....remember 98% of these boys will be playing in the beer leagues with us in a few years.
Maybe Illinois teams ought to follow their lead....
Fact,Cost of Hockey in Michigan, AAA, AA, or A is half of what it is in IL. There are no Full Time "Hockey Directors" that make 6 figured salaries.
Do you know that the best hockey programs in Michigan cost $2000 per child and that INCLUDES bags & warmups...some teams throw in gloves. All of the AA/A programs are 501(c)(3) so they take donations from companies that want to sponsor, have banners, (just as we do in IL) the difference is the team that recruits the sponsors benefit from the sponsor and not the entire organization..
IL hockey is a racket..

Dude...Are you on the right thread? This one is intended to educate the idiot Fury parents for subjecting their kids to constant and merciless poundings...all because the parents have projected their inadequacies on their kids.
BTW...I do not disagree with your point on using Dads as coaches.

" reliving those old glory days" or those wish I had glory days. the kids on that team are not only being coached from the coaches but are getting it in the car and at home on a daily basis. totally feel sorry for those kids.

The Fury had moved up to #78 ranking prior to this weeekend. After posting back-back 13-0 losses they should drop a little. They are currently 0-25. But, they are developing.

I've seen this thread for what seems like the 100th time and it's gettin real old.Do you boyz really care that much about a decision a few families made regarding their 10 year old son?If so, why don't you all go back to school so you can become family guidance counselors and make sure nothing like this ever happens again.Guess what....it will.
It sounds like the parents realize they made a mistake so move on and quit acting like their decision to play AAA this year will irreparably
damage these kids cause it won't.

How can a team that is 0-25 take 13 days off in the middle of the season? don't you think that they need a little practice. No wonder they are the worst team ever assembled. Nice job coaches.
