Hey, its hockey without a hotel room so it can't be all bad. Plus the AA people always say they can play too and the AAA people think they are better than anyone without a third A so its good to give everyone a chance to settle it on the ice. I applaud TI for the openness of the tournament. Good luck, all.

Why aren't all four Chicago teams at a major Chicago tournament?
Is AAA in this town so cut-throat that the players' development is sacraficed for adult egos? And Illinois hockey's image takes a backseat to politics?
Just wondering.

Why would teams pay 1500 to play aa teams, with the new aaa league, tournaments will be a thing of the past, between league games and show cases there will be plenty of games without the costly expense of tourneys and plenty of competition The USpd u17 team may now be in the midget league even better comp so tourney will go by by

First off, this tourney is not a major tourney, the only thing it does is raise money for TI which is fine. There are very few scouts there if any. It is just not a good venue.

Yes, the parents ego's are major obstacles! They need to get real and understan that outside Chicago and Detroit, AAA is not always the same thing. Play good comnpetition where you find it, "Development" requires that you play over your head in a ability at times and dominate your competition at times as well.
There are a thousand very good hockey players in Junior Leagues around the continent.( and only a few dozen of those will make have an NHL career!) Because a player makes a AAA team is NO Guarantee he'll be one of them. There are plenty of former Illinois Studs that peaked at 16 or 18. Enjoy the ride, 'cause it can be great enjoyment when you take the pressure off your boy!
