Top Players by Birth Year

A few weekends ago I saw a '97 game b/t St. Louis Junior Blues and Madison Capitols. Was really impressed by a kid on the Blues, then was told by a Capitols dad that the kid is actually a '98 playing up a year. Supposedly he's one of the top '98s in North America right now.

One of the great things about the AAA experience is being able to watch the best of the best play, those who IF they continue their current dominance could someday make it big.

So, without naming names I guess, which individual players are currently recognized as the tops in their age groups? Thanks.

You are a goof. Ranking 97 & 98 players, Wow. OK, I play this dumb@ss game with you alittle, Last weekend I seen a 2000 bithyear boy playing in Toronto. 5ft 126LBS. Hair on his face and a hot 18 year old honey rooting him on. Later that night the kid showed up at the landingstrip and enjoyed lap dance's until 2AM. The next morning that little 8 year old skated from end to end showing off in front of 2 of the strippers who showed for his morning game. The boy's a stud, he play's for the Marlie's and his name is Mody Dick. Now please find something esle to do with your time. You must have a good 98 or 97 and are hoping the benders gets some props from your dumb post. Nobody give a $hit who the best 9 year old bender but you.

Your are right that the kid from St. Louis(# 87) is pretty special.He certainly has a chance
given his skill level to do well as he advances to Bantam,Mm and perhaps beyond.The boyz bustin your ballz below do have a point though and quite simply it's that all this can change very quicly as kids mature.Talkin about 11yr olds(he's 10 I believe)doesn't mean anything.

With the possible exception of Banker, the point of my inquiry was missed by all. Perhaps not shocking in a forum apparently full of anonymous, malcontent snipers.

Um yeah, I get that Squirts are 10 and things change dramatically on through MM. Squirts are my only frame of reference; hence my inquiry about all birth years... My own kid is average on his best day, and neither he nor I have any delusions that he will ever go anywhere with hockey. If almost any of you do, then you are dreaming.

That said, I can't be the only one who would like to be able to say in the future that I saw some D1/MJ/pro player when he was in AAA and thought back then that he would be a stud.

But boy that strip club story was freakin' hilarious! Whew wee!! How do you do it?! A guy with your wit, creativity and comic genius is really wasting his talent on a youth hockey site - and most likely his money on his dreams that hockey will take his kid somewhere...

I guess upon second read I see the initial intent of the question. In response, the 94 are loaded with talent in IL and the 93s have some studs as well.

OK Mr Dumb Poster above. I have to ask you a few questions about your latest post. You state that both you and your son understand that hockey is not in his future. I think only half of that is true. I never seen a 6,7, or 8 year old who didn't think he was going to grow up and play for the local pro team at that age. Come on, read what you posted. I'm sure you kid tells you," Dad I love AAA hockey at the age of 8 but I fully understand that I have know future in the game and I must keep up my studies in 5th grade. " How does your foot taste? Come on tug hard it will come out. Mr Funnyman strikes again. As far as the money I have spent in AAA, well my son played AAA until Midgets, at that time he bolted out East and is finishing up his schooling while play D1 New England prep school Hockey. So I'm thinking my money was spent well. He's playing a high level of Hockey, seeing new places and getting one of the best educations the US has to offer. Rumor has it little Mody Dick may play up 5 levels next season and become his linemate. Its about time my kid gets to hit the East Coast strip Joints with the best 2000 player ever, MR DICK.

I ask a simple question, and I get, well, a simpleton's response. A true 'bravo' to your kid, with sincere pity on his dad's bravado. Enjoy living vicariously through your kid. Hope he turns out better (and funnier) than you did!

They don't recruit out here because the people here don't want to pay $45,000 a year for high school and because the MWEHL is better hockey than prep school hockey.

Who is better?

Ive always thought they should get a big tourney in Chicago between the top AAA teams, Shattuck, a few top Minnesota High Schools, Culver, and the top NE Prep schools. Talk about scouts!! But lets go with this

Culver plays a lot of the AAA teams and NE Prep teams. They are 7-4 against AAA teams. 3-2 against NE Prep teams.
That doesnt say anything, just a mildly interesting stat.

2008 NHL Draft? 5 NE Prep players. 1 AAA player.
That does.

As of right now, NE Prep Hockey is more highly thought of than AAA hockey. Its true, look at the facts.

Even if your kid doesnt go pro from Prep School, hes still getting a diploma from a school that demands respect.

But honestly, how amazing would that tournament be?

East Coast Prep players drafted

Alkinson,Moffie,Lee,Mullane= Avon Old Farms
Campaneli= Westminster
Pallis= Nobles
Prockow=Berkshire
Goggin=Choate
Condon=Belmont Hill
Daniels=Kent
Caver,Pokulck=Northwood

The above 12 players were drafted. If you add in the prep or Highschool players drafted from the Minn area the number of players double's. About 12% of the players drafted in the top 200 came from some type of Prep school.

My son is the best 2008. He can't crawl or walk yet but he is skating and taking privates. I will spend all my time and $$$ on him and if he doesn't make the top team at a club, I will move him to amother club and talk smack about the old club.

Sound Silly? Yes......That is just how ridiculous you all sound.

i played on the avon team, atkinson was the only one to get drafted (columbus blue jackets).....and the other 2 ( mullane, and lee moffie), moved to juniors after 80% of the team graduated, and they are a year younger meaning their draft year is this year.

You obviously did not play on Avon because you have no clue what you are talking about. I actually played prep hockey last year and both mullane and moffie were drafted. They are also both 90's meaning there draft year was last year so please go look at last years draft and keep dreaming about playing for avon because if you actually played on the team then you would know they were drafted and that last year was there draft year you frickin idiot.
