is anybody good trying out? do they have any depth, will they have a good 3rd line? what about the Defense? Defense and goalies win championships. without those two ingredients, it will be a long season.

Some good kids there. Some good kids at the other clubs too.
Coaching staff shaping up to be a joke. Daddy, is it my turn yet, is it?Leaving the dad issue aside, better coach at Fury and CYA. Probably 2 IDs make it, only one they really want. The small TI kid GL is skating at seven bridges with 99s now. Don't know the goalie.

Not sure about your cya better coaching deal. I know that MM is a good skills coach but I do not believe he has a coached a game yet. The asst is also a great skills coach but not very good in teaching the game. Which kid do they want from the dogs?? My guess is the taller of the 2. The coaches kid is small but does have good skills

Will be very limited playing for some. Also heard 99 goalie is going down from 98 which is good for 99s. The taller of the 2 ID is the one they want. Heard GL is also doing spring at TI as well as Miss99. Will end up at Mission too small and slow for Pee Wee. Is RM really going to coach or is this BS?

RT is the 99 Mission Coach. Go away and talk about another club sounds like you have some concerns to deal with. Taller, Smaller each ID 99 squirt elite player contributed to a great season and was at the top of the 99's playing AA last year. To join these players with 99's who played AAA last season will form a fun team to watch.......

Providing info and opinions is what a message board is for. If you don't like to read others facts and opinions then don't read them. It's on good word that the taller one is the one they are interested in, like it or not. Whether the others contributed at the id's or not is not the issue. It's what they want or need that is the issue. Woof Woof

playing time is HUGE for most of these kids that I know and their parents so if some kids(coaches kids) are going to get preferential treatment and get most of the special teams play, that great team could implode before Oct 1st, in my opinion. hey, it is what it is. its reality and it should be interesting to watch. good luck with it, glad i'm not part of that BS with my kid.

talent alone keeps kids on the ice,its all about winning, because if ur a head coach and not winning then u will be moving on,organizations want winnings teams winning teams bring in top talent, which brings in alot of money,so its a win win for all three parties, kid, coach and organizations,if the coaches kid is one of the top dogs on the team then he should get a little more playing time in penality kills, and power plays so be it,if u want ur kid to also get more playing time then u better tell him to show up and produce or he will just be another fill in,in one of the lines, and if he is at the bottom of the barrell then maybe you should of thought of that before u joined aaa,and stayed at aa to develope ur kid a little more, just because a aaa coach tells u that ur son is a nice fit for there organization,u should know deep in ur heart where ur son really should be placed,or u have to much money and just saying my kid is a aaa player is all that matters to u,and thats why we have such watered down systems, money only lasts for so long, develop the kids, and get them ready for real life.

Some serious talent out there at the 99 level, what team will be the best this Fall in this state? I heard TI has some benders heading there from ID and other places. Can Mission compete with them? I heard Mission has those 3-4 AAA kids from last year, but what do they have after that, any depth at all? What about the Fury? Can any of these teams compete with Detroit?

Yeah right. Which AAA team did your son get cut from?

Don't be embarrassed. It is okay. Don't be a hater.

Question: Do you know who is a bigger loser than a hockey parent who posts on Complete Hockey?

Answer: A parent who posts on Complete Hockey whose son never played hockey.

QUEENIE that wanted to make a lot off the brick. You probably won't see it ether.
But I can look at the roster for the nike bauer and see 6 defense men and 9 forwards, with 2 goalies from 13 teams. It does not have a CYA or a Fury player. Most played some form of 98
level hockey last year.

If they do not, then the mission and TI will be loading up with those players. What's going on at the fury? I hear many of the huskie CS team is following their coach. Is that true? What about CYA, I hear they are recruiting some top 2k's

Why all the fuss about Central States? Many of the CS teams at Squirt last year would have gotten killed in NIHL Elite. We played the top CS teams a few times last year and was competitive. Why pay the extra $$$ for Central States league that is no better than Elite? If you kids are good enough and you want to travel, tryout for AAA. If the kids make it great, if not play NIHL Elite. Central States is still AA. It is a different AA league, not necesaarily a better AA league.

Hey ID fans, your wake up call is here. Did you see what happened to the ice dogs/avalanche this weekend. They got smoooked by a second rate TI squad and the Nike Bauer team. Got smashed.

There are about 2-3 players that a serious AAA club would want from that group. The rest of them can go back to CS and get creamed without their top couple of players.

Loading up - very funny!!

the ice dogs spring team is a true aa team not a aaa team, they beat the aa team both games, but lost to ti and mission, the ti game should have been alot closer but goilie had a bad game that is going to happen, ice dogs lack alot of team skill, remember half of these kids played on the second team and the half that played on the top team were not really contributers they played good position, but had a hard time putting the puck in the net.the kids that came off of the second team were never taught how to play the game of hockey only taught skills and from the looks of it werent taught very well or didnt listen very well.these kids and parents from the ice dogs will be getting a wake up call when they try out for aaa, maybe cya will not be looking so bad for some of these kids,i do not see to many making ti or mission, next weekend will give some real results on were most of the kids will be heading, mission will have the cream of the crop and if i was going to play aaa thats where i would be heading, why play for aaa club to only compete in illinois, when you can play for one to compete in the entire nation

mission doesn't look that good to me. Remember Nike Bauer is not Mission - loaded with out of towners. Mission only has a handlful of the good local AAA level players. The rest are spread out elsewhere and many skating at Mission spring are also skating at other clubs. Everyone Ive talked to thinks Mission coaches are at or near at the bottom of the pile. We will see.

I think that Fury is going to be the sleeper team!! Watch out for them.
TI and Mission are both going to be good, strong as usual.
CYA will again be a bottom feeder. Filled with kids that were cut and some who believe that there is only one coach (MM)in the world that can develop skills. The only kid's that will benefit from CYA are the 2000's that they'll recruit.
Mission and TI both have a nice 99 program shaping up, with coaches that get it.
Should be a fun year.

Entire Nation, are you kidding me? Its squirt Major, there is no National Championship, NONE! MWEHL is a conference, not a national championship tourney. and as a good friend of mine who's kid plays at the midget AAA level currently, none of this matters until 2nd year PEE WEE or 1st year Bantam.

I witnessed the Nike Bauer(mission) v TI game this Sat. and if you think the Mission team is top 5 in the national rankings, time for a gut check. TI and Mission are very similar in talent, in my world. the top local players on Mission DID NOT Impress me that much this weekend. I guess that gap is already being closed by 2nd year squirt.

Good Luck!!!

Save your money

No score for this post
April 20 2009, 9:23 AM

I think the smartest thing that any of the hopium-smoking potential Squirt AAA parents should do is save your money. Go win the Squirt and PeeWee AA state tournaments and if your kid still likes the sport at that time, put him at AAA when he turns a Bantam. Unless of course you just have to be able to say that my little Johnny plays Triple A hockey at age 9. If that is the case, keep writing the checks.

Nothing, I mean, NOTHING, the kid does or learns at age 9 translates into a college scholarship. It is a waste of your time and money.

Excited Follower said it best.........."nothing they do at 9 years old translates into a scholarship". But due to the heightened excitement of youth sports and activities, too many parents are seeking success by proxy, that is, a vicarious feeeling of accomplishment through their children. And it happens in many endeavors, not just hockey. Youth Tennis, Cheerleading and Soccer, we now have year round Baseball for 7 year olds!!!! ( When a kid quits at 12 years old, do you think it's due to overconfidence, lack of interest or self doubt?)

Future stardom is easily identifieable by 12 or 13 year of age. And it is generally based on God given athleticism, hand-eye coordination and foot speed. The rest can be learned. Future NHLers are WAY more advanced by 12 years old than even their closest peers. That DOES NOT mean that many kids can't achieve great things, championships and even College Scholarships and the rare undrafted NHL opportunity. We as parents should encourage that, if they want to pursue that dream. BUT, we must use our wisdom and common sense and keep the EXPECTATIONS reasonable in our own minds while still letting our kids DREAM of the NHL!

squirt dogs need not worry, they have the mighty 2000 group to save the day for those who stay back at glacier. too bad the 2000 group didn't enter this weekends festivities and hammer some aa and aaa teams. DAMN, missed a good opportunity to get physical with some danglers.

go get em aaa!!! some here take it tooooooo seriously and might not realize you are joking. I would tell the little one to keep his head up or the teeth might need a staightning before you think. THanks for lightnening up this thread as it is looking like a dog elite thread again. How many dogs do you thing go to mission? TI? CYA? Fury? My guess Mission----4 1 gets cut. TI------5 1 gets cut. CYA-----2 no cuts(i know, stop laughing) Staying----4 plus the possible cuts. Goalies----both ti. Sound like you 2k state elite champs will get to show off in gold/elite at squirt. You know, passing and playing a team game as such.

Why did we have to

1. Spend the first half of last season being bombarded by ignorant squirt ID posters.
2. Create a new string excluding ID's only to get invaded by their posts again.
3. Be happy for season to end so that we could enjoy a Mission 99 thread.
4. Be unhappy to see ID's invade the Mission 99 thread....AGAIN.

I went to the NIHL site to view how many ID players made the academic achievement list. For a big organization I was surprised to see only 4 names. Guess it makes sense.

ice dogs vrs falcons if that is a aa team then it will be a long and boring season for the ice dogs,i dont care if its spring or fall so both teams are missing players, all i know is if you think that your kid is going to improve his skills by skating around the other team and doing whatever they like then they are not getting chalenge .all you parents who think spending 6,000.00 a year for having fun because you kid is winning then you have to much money and i could use some.kids skills only develop when there is tough competion, being challenge by other kids in the same skill level, and you are crazy if there is any comparision between ti and mission, puck was in ti zone 7/8 of the game,ti goilie stood on his head, skill wise not even close should of been 14-2 not one goal by ti was scored by a multiple pass situation they were great individual scoring situations, avalanche game with ti should of been closer difference of goilies, round 2 of ti,mission if thats not a statement and u think there is no diffence,oh yeh you also think your 2000 from id can hang also,we will see what level and how you will do in the fall, probably here its all about development when last year it was all about winning and how your team was beating bronze squirt teams.if your kid has the above average all around skills and understanding of the game, and i mean at this age level they should be able to go both ways and understand each position of the game,if you son or daughter has all these skills then the only way to keep on improving is moving on to the next level for the right reason, not because its a,aa or aaa hockey because your kid is ready, dont tell me you would keep your kid at the (a) level after dominating all year and doing that over and over, all you are doing to your kid is making him beleive that he is better than he really is,why would you not play up to the (aa) the following year to improve his skills and play against tougher players and do the same for aa to aaa,if we as parents dont keep challenging our kids to be the best they can be and not have everything given to them, and make them earn things in life, then there future in life will be a waste and all the people who do not come from the united states will own all the jobs and none will be left,it starts now for our kids not when they are 14 and older.as long as your kids have smiles on there faces, see how far they can go and when the road comes to an end, your kid should be able to choose the right and wrong path

totally agree with the last 1/2 of post. all about development, no question about it. that is what I'm doing with my bender!

listen, i have NO agenda, NONE, I could care less what team looked better this past weekend... TI or Mission. I have friends on both teams, actually. I'm just saying it as I saw it and yea the TI goalie played well and the Mission goalie played well but there is NO WAY Mission is that much better than the TI team, not from what I witnessed. I call it as I see it. Top local kids on mission were good, they moved the puck, they are quick but you know what, TI has some pretty damn quick kids that can move the puck as well. apples and oranges man. I just wasn't blown away with any one individual out there... hmmm, I guess that is the game right, its a team effort for the most part. I will say this, that Sat. 4-4 game was very entertaining, great game!

For crying out loud it wasn't the mission team it was nike/bauer team that was hand picked by RT for the spring. Each of those players that he brought in are better then the players that will replace them in the fall. U can talk about the hot goalie or combination passes etc.... but hockey is hockey and the game was played to a tie by a team that was not hand picked. TI showed well but who knows if all of those kids will even try out. Who really cares anyways they are 10 for christ sake. You have your priorities all screwed up if you are going there just to "win". What about skill devlopment, what about the coaches( lets see you have a HC who the 98 team did not want back, you have another coach who allegedly told a player to slash an opposing player behind the knee----98 mission thread). How about teaching sportsmanship, to play the game hard and to treat it with respect, how do you make the other players on your team better etc.... Stop bashing 10 year old kids!!!! If somebody chooses to go to mission--so be it. If someone chooses ti, mission or even cya---so be it. In the end the kids will all get along in the corridors before and after the game and many might even become good friends regardless of the logo on their jersey

for the kids.

The parents are the ones that will have to deal with each other and spread their hate. Just keep it away from your kids if you have any respect for them.

Last post was 100% right on. That was not the Mission. It was Nike Bauer and but for 3 or 4 kids none of those players will be returning to the mission because they live in other states/countries that were selected for the Nike Bauer Select spring tournament team. That was not the TI fall team either. The mission coaches are bad news. Not an opinion. Their actions speak for themselves.

Growing in the game for these kids will involve fun, skill development and good coaching. Winning is not a requirement. Winning and losing build skills and character just the same if there are strong, stand-up coaches that work with the kids.

Stop the hate

What is with this age group of parents. My gosh, you guys are nuts. Do you have nothing else to do? Try putting some of the same effort into something contructive that means something to our society. Worrying about Mission, TI, Ice Dogs and whomever at this age doesn't mean anything relative to the future of your kid. They are too young. Fall out will happen in a couple of years. Let's see who burns out their kid first. Let the kids have fun no matter where they play and stop the bashing. Obviously, there is bad blood between some parents of both organizations. Grow up and be an example to your kid. Or, are you always going to hide behind Complete Hockey with your comments and smile at your buddies from the other club. I appreciate all the entertainment you have provided for us outsiders, however you all look like idiots.

Wow. Didn't quit after 3rd grade, and I'm not a politician or a SENIOR CITIZEN either. You forgot to add my next comment after the word OPINION. "Their actions speak for themselves." The post before mine mentioned one example. Plenty more. Not opinions but actions and facts.

Understand now?
