| Congratulations to the entire Fury organization for establishing a great coaching staff, top to bottom. In reviewing their website, it looks like Dennis Vaske, former NHL player, was named as the new Midget Major coach. Dennis Vaske played for several years in the NHL logging 235 games and has coached on the east coast at the AAA level. Adding Dennis to the new mix of already added Jimmy Andersson at the 99 level, the Fury continues to prove its commitment in bringing great coaching at all levels. The line-up is looking strong with Marc Kapsalis coaching the 98's, Stan Liberda coaching the 97's, Dana Bannerman at the 96 level with Jimmy Andersson assisting, Matt Noga at the 95 level, and finally, Darren McCluskey at the midget minor level, the Fury has a solid coaching line-up. To cap it off, Nick Pollos will be spearheading Player Development and Recruiting allowing someone in the know to work hard behind the scenes in networking in the hockey community. Best of luck to the Fury Organization as this is great news for Illinois Hockey. |

Now all they need is some decent players. How can they retain SL and DB after what they did last year.Maybe 5 wins between the 96s and 97s. Most of the 97s are skating with Mission. The 96s are just outright terrible. It does'nt matter who coaches-without talent there will be no success. Once again they will be the doormat of AAA hockey. |

You play AAA for one reason, to make it to the next level. Only a small percentage make it so records are irrelevant. I love it when people talk about wins and losses as they are just not that important. What is important is to allow a very few from the mm and MM levels to make it to the next level - period. Look at all of the teams in Illinois and study just how many move on to NAHL, OHL, and USHL. Not many. However, the top players always seem to find a way regardless of the emblem on the front. So stick in in your ass! |

Typical Fury response. Your horsecrap organization loses so often you convince yourself that winning isn't
important. Oh,thats right-your developing. Your organization is the laughingstock of AAA hockey. |

You hit the nail on the head. AAA is for one reason only, to win. Win at ALL costs. Thats why the best AAA teams shorten benches and put their horses on PP and PK. The doormats of AAA always throw the developing word in when the losses just add up year after year after year. I needed this laugh this am. Good stuff! |

The Fury actually has a competitive program at the higher levels.
Their MM team finished in the middle of the MWEHL standings with a respectable 44 points and beat the Dallas Stars - this years runner up for the MM national championship.
The mm went to the finals of the IL state playoffs.
The 14U had a competitive season in the MWEHL finishing with 35 points and beating Compuware and Mission in league play (the gold and silver medalist at this year's nationals). Also, they had 4 of the top 25 scorers in the league.
The 95s were also competitive.
I know some of the younger teams had their issues but the organization is technically only 2 - 3 years old. Give them time the Fury teams will continue to improve.
The bashing of the Fury on this site is not justified. For the most part they are a very solid organization with good coaches, great facilities, and have committed dollars behind it to help them continue to improve and be successful. |

I was wrong - the 14U team actually had 5 players in the top 25 scorers. |

Although you have some talent at the higher levels, your lower levels are terrible and your organization has developed nothing from the 96's down. Keep up the nepotism network at the 96 level and enjoy the continued success that they've brought the past 2 years. They will never improve to a point where they are competetive within the league until you completely revamp that team. None of your top 5 may even make another AAA team in the state. The only chance they have of putting wins on the board at the 96 and 97 level, which essentially helps draw other talent, is to continue playing the little sisters of the poor. You brought in JA which is a good move but noone is going to follow at the 96 group and he will bring his Huskies to improve that level. This organization should offer more at the lower levels in order to entice people to give it a shot. |

It is hopefully a step forward. What do the numbers look like for Spring at each level? | |
