obviously not.. they suck this year!!
Mission= only Kendall... she can't do everything by herself... don't get me wrong she's amazing, but one man teams aren't going to prosper! |

If you're looking to stir the pot....well? Yes Kendall is amazing but the Mission 19's have loads of talent in all departments. Perhaps that's why 7 or more Seniors and PG's are now making decisions to commit to DI programs if they haven't already. Many of which are finding it a tough decision because they have several options. If all of those individuals sucked, they wouldn't be signing on the dotted lines before the end of October. Remember, a team can outskate, outshoot, outplay their opponent and still lose a game. Those scouts could care less who wins or loses. They know talent when they see it. |

Sounds like a frustrated parent who is uncomfortable with their sexuality. Obviously needs professional care. |

great that girls are COMMITTING to D1 programs but how many are getting a four year FREE RIDE? previous post can be misleading as schools are no longer in a finacial position to offer this. |

Plenty of D1 programs making phone calls to play for free. All teams need 4th liners. |

On the average a DI team is looking for 2-3 forwards 2-3 defensemen and possibly a goalie. When you have 18 full scholarships each year and you roster 22 players, you do the math. Full ride scholarships are few and far between. Perhaps 1 or 2 given out per school year to incoming freshman. The rest is divided among other players. Being a non-revenue sport, that's just how it is. But when a player is offered 50% or better, you're wanted. Hey, I'd take $100,000 anyday to help pay for my daughters education. Average cost of a school in the ECAC and Hockey East is about $48,000 annually. 50% isn't so shabby is it? |

Many of the TOP players in the world (Team Canada, Team USA, etc) choose these fine institutions and hockey programs to play for each year (all ECAC):
Brown
Cornell
Dartmouth
Harvard
Princeton
Yale
They are all IVY, and NONE of them offer any athletic scholarships. |

You might also add that being a top player may get you entrance into the Ivy schools. It's still tough to get in those schools unless daddy went there. If you have got the bucks and hockey provides the entrance then go for it. However, I don't want to rain on anyones parade but Ivy is great if you are in it for law and politics otherwise it just looks great on your wall at the office. I think its much better to get something off school rather than go that route but to each his own. |

At the U12 level the two best Girls teams in Illinois are CYA U12's and Yellowjackets U12's.
CYA U12's can play with any of the other AAA U12 clubs.
Have you seen what the Yellowjackets U12's are doing to the other four NIHL PeeWee Girls teams? GF 55, GA 5 in 9 games.
Mission U12's would be #3.
So, "Mission domination" might be an overstatement. |

Come back with an update IF they are still together at U16/19. Until then dad, it doesn't really matter. |

I guess beating up on the same 4 teams all season long proves you have a quality girls program. Don't forget CYA and the Mission play in the Boys Silver Division. |

No, I think you'll just have two teams in the U12 AA Blackhawk Cup. They'll be the ones that had tryouts back in May 2009, who have a Tier I next to their team name, and who pull girls from all over the metro area.
YJ's will play in the U12A Blackhawk Cup, with other true club teams, all of whom do their tryouts in August/September and play a girls league schedule all season.
These U12 Tier II teams play in Minnesota and Wisconsin tournaments and even play some AAA teams from Wisconsin. That's done to challenge the teams and improve them, and to compete against teams they don't see all the time. | |
