Puck Cancer is a 501c3 Non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for cancer cure research and helping families whose lives have been changed by cancer through the wonderful sport of hockey. This year Puck Cancer is back in it's second annual year after a successful inaugural showcase! Age groups offered this year include U10, U12, U14,U16 and U19 Showcase teams set to compete against one another this summer, June 18-20 at Rocket Ice arena in Bolingbrook, IL.
About Puck Cancer
Sue Padulo was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma when she was 26 years old. She was forced to stop playing hockey to undergo major surgery, months of chemo and radiation treatments and 2 years of recovery. The love of her favorite sport and her desire to skate drove her to a healthy cancer free life.
To celebrate Sues survivorship, Sue and her sister Sandy Cross co-founded Puck Cancer®. Through a combined 15 years in the hockey world they have
built an extensive network of allies and allied organizations dedicated to defeating cancer, just like they defeat their opponents on the ice.
As of July 9th, 2006 Sue was considered cured. Puck Cancer is dedicated to attaining these same results for all cancer
patients/survivors as well as helping families financially/personally in need because of cancer related issues.
Highlights of the Tournament will include:
Free Jerseys for participants
Awards for all participants
pizza party, goodie bags, raffles, Puck Cancer wear
All teams coached by Women's College Players
Attached is all the registration information, fliers and volunteer coaching forms and hope you will consider participating in this great charity event as well as encouraging your daughters or players to do the same. Players will sign up individually and be placed on a team according to their proper age group. Please forward this to any female player/team in your organization. Thank you for time and assistance and we hope to see you this summer at the tournament!
Be a part of the fight against Cancer! Thanks for giving a puck!
