Our daughter may play aaa hockey after playing for boys teams for a number of years. Seems like CYA and Mission are strongest programs. What are differences? I am asking a lot of questions but not sure I know them all. Any advice?

To answer efffectively, will need to know far more information,, such as;

Daughters birthyear?
What level did she play with boys, NWHL, NIHL G/S/B, CSDHL, AAA?
1st line? 2nd line? starting goalie? etc.
How much experience does she have?
Height/Weight?
Position?
Where do you live?
What are your daughters goals?

All of these things make a difference in order to answer your question.

Both are good programs - you probably know AAA will be a time commitment. You do not say how old your daughter is so tough to answer in more detail -here are some observations

CYA have been very successful at younger levels - really good 96 and 97 players and younger too. Mission has been better at the older level.

Mission won state championship at 19 level, CYA won at 12, 14 and 16 levels.

Year befoe CYA won 12, 14 - Mission won the other two

So - CYA might be doing better at younger levels - 1996 and younger.

Coaching pretty good at both programs - some parents at CYA have some issues with the u14 coach - the comments appear to the widespead so you find some of the parents and find out the real story. Mission 16 and 19 coaches are well liked.

Good luck - will be interesting to see what shows up here. Also, as you know the teams are forming now - informally and then formally with tryouts which should be scheduled soon. You probably need to be well along with your process particularly if your daughter is 16 or 19.

Early word is that CYA will be really strong at 16 - Mission really strong at 19.

Good Luck with your decision

Dear Hockey Mom at 173.9.198.222,

The advice you need is not hockey related, you need a shrink for symptoms of Schizophrenia.

Yes, then we agree. N54 is like fly paper for mental midgets.
