This happened at the Barringon Ice Rink about 3 years ago sending many to the local hospital.

1. Be aware of the physical symptoms - the poison can be colorless and odorless.

2. Push for electric ice resurfacers at your rink - in the long run it may be the cheaper than the liability associated with combustion exhausts. Potential problem eliminated.

3. Ensure your combustion engine machine is properly tuned and maintained. Don't let them idle longer than necessary.

4. Readily available air quality meter readings at rinks.
